Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Rated R for graphic violence, grisly images, language and brief sexuality.

There is a scene where a teenage girl is taking a bath, in which the bath becomes a deep pool of water. She falls under, and we see several glimpses of fleeting partial nudity in the form of the sides of her breasts, one nipple could be seen, but this is extremely tame and non-explicit.

A woman takes off her nightgown and from behind you see her panties and no shirt on. The side of her breast can briefly be seen (however, it is somewhat hard to see).

There is a brief sex scene. Moaning is heard, and you see the couple afterwards on top of each other. No nudity is seen (their bodies are covered up by sheets).

A teenage guy mentions that he was watching "Ms. Nude America" (or something like that, anyway...). His mom asks how he is able to listen to music while watching that: "How can you hear what they're saying?" He quips "Who cares what they're saying?"

In the beginning, one boy mentions having a "hard-on".

Violence & Gore

Gore scale 1-10: 6 = Bloody

Gallons of blood (mostly involving the first two scenes below).

A girl is dragged on to the ceiling, her shirt is ripped open and she is slashed a couple times. A lot of blood is shown.

A boy is pulled inside a bed and a fountain of blood gushes upward

A man is hanged from rafters with a bed sheet.

Freddy's face is ripped off, and his skull is shown. Not graphic.

A character is shown bloody inside of a body bag.

Freddy has a horribly burned and disfigured face.

Krueger masochistically slashes himself a couple of times, the result being squirts of greenish blood and guts coming out of the wounds.

It is mentioned that Krueger killed children with his glove.

Profanity

A few F-words and other typical teen language.

NOTE: Deleted scenes contain a bit more F-words (like 2-3 times which are present in main film)

A character's mother is an alcoholic (we see her drinking throught the film, as well as seeing her drunk in one scene). She also smokes cigarettes.

The whole entire movie is very intense and disturbing. The scenes listed under the Violence/Gore section above stand out as being very frightening. Your younger children will have trouble sleeping for a while as Freddy Krueger only kills people when they're dreaming, and children at that.
