Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this new feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes .
Visit our Parents Guide Help to learn more

Sex & Nudity

The main character is stuck in the past and must hit on his mother in order to get his parents to meet and eventually get married. It is mostly played out for laughs. An attempted rape is implied.

Violence & Gore

Characters fight. No blood is present and no one is seriously injured or killed.

Profanity

Mild to moderate. The word "s---" is used often due to standards at the time of the films release. Jesus' name is abused a good number of times.

One of the characters is seen drunk.

Also, Lea Thompson's character drinks alcohol and smokes a cigarette and one of the memebers of the band playing at the dance, are seen smoking outside of the high school. Using a standardized scoring system, this film received a smoking rating of 4 Butts! (on a scale of 0-4 Butts). For more nformation on the impact of onscreen smoking and the initition of youth tobacco use, or for more information on the rating system, visit www.smokescreeners.org.

Characters are in mild to moderate peril throughout. The climax of the film has a bit of suspense that might be intense for some.
