Teenage vampire-freak Charlie Brewster [William Ragsdale] believes that new neighbor Jerry Dandridge [Chris Sarandon] is a vampire, but no one believes him--not the police, not girlfriend Amy [Amanda Bearse], not best friend Evil Ed [Stephen Geoffreys], not even TV's fearless vampire killer Peter Vincent [Roddy McDowell], that is, until Vincent discovers that Dandridge casts no reflection in a mirror. Dandridge knows that Charlie knows, and sets out to destroy Charlie, making Ed and Amy into vampires first. Charlie and Vincent eventually trap Dandridge in his basement after sunrise and kill him by breaking open holes in the wall to let in the sunlight.
