9 December 2009 3:55 PM, PST | Monsters and Critics | See recent Monsters and Critics news »

No Country For Old Men star Josh Brolin could be replacing Tommy Lee Jones in Men in Black 3. The 41-year-old actor, who has appeared in movies such as Milk and The Goonies, is reportedly being considered for a role in the third movie in the sci-fi series. His exact part is still being discussed but there has allegedly been talk that he will replace Jones as Agent K. Other claims say he might play a new agent or play a younger version of Agent K. Sony is still deciding on a production start date for the movie and the flick is based on a script by Tropic Thunder writer Etan Cohen, bringing Barry Sonnenfeld

9 December 2009 6:49 AM, PST | The Wrap | See recent The Wrap news »

By Los Angeles Times

Josh Brolin could be going from "W." to K.

With "No Country for Old Men," "Milk," "W.," and, of course, "The Goonies" on his resume, Brolin's filmography speaks for itself. Now he may be adding "Men in Black 3" to that estimable list.

The actor is being considered for a role that would have him donning the black suit and shades for the third installment of the sci-fi comedy franchise.

Josh Brolin Lined Up For Men In Black 3

9 December 2009 5:20 AM, PST | FilmShaft.com | See recent FilmShaft.com news »

Josh Brolin is on fire. No, not literally – but in terms of star power, the man is flaming hot right now. It has been a long steady climb for the No Country For Old Men star, and for many of us, he’ll always be Brand from The Goonies. After a series of excellent supporting roles Brolin is now considered leading man material.

The L.A. Times are currently rumour-mongering Brolin is in line for a part in Men in Black 3. Yes, that’s correct. Question, is: who’s he replacing? Could it be Tommy Lee Jones? One suspects it is not going to be Will Smith. Perhaps Jones has had enough of the franchise after two movies and is paving the way for Brolin.

A script is currently being developed by Etan Cohen and Sony are wooing Barry Sonnenfield to return to the director’s chair. It’s a busy year ahead for Brolin, …

Josh Brolin Must Locate a Black Suit, And a Ray Gun!

8 December 2009 9:24 PM, PST | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

From the big brother in The Goonies to playing George W. Bush for Oliver Stone in W., Josh Brolin has been around. He'll next star as the supernatural gunslinger Jonah Hex, a comic adaptation at Warner Bros., further bringing him into the mainstream pool. And now that he's in that pool, there's no higher rung on the ladder than starring in a summer tentpole alongside Will Smith -- something that may happen soon. Hero Complex is reporting today that Brolin is in talks to star alongside Smith in Men in Black 3, a long-gestating project currently being scripted by Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder). The nature of his role is yet to be made clear, but the report does speculate a bit: ...in recent days there's been chatter in Hollywood development circles of a few possibilities: He could play a new single-monikered government agent, with Tommy Lee Jones' Agent K passing the baton to Brolin's character. Or …

Empire Release their 20th Birthday Portfolio

3 December 2009 8:20 AM, PST | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

For the 20th anniversary edition of Empire Magazine, not only did they have Steven Spielberg as they’re guest editor and reunite The Goonies, they also did some wonderful photos of famous movie stars recreating famous scenes with a modern twist. The photos featured people like Arnold Schwarzenegger recreating his some Terminator poses, Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins doing Silence of the Lambs and Simon Pegg and Nick Frost re-enacting Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.

Empire have now collated all these images and given them to us in a lovely gallery which shows them off properly. Some of these were available before today but now all 30 images are there.

I think I’m going to create a collage of them all because they’re too good to be kept on the Internet. They need to be displayed on a wall!

Head over to Empire to check them all out. …

Feldman 'Squeamish' Despite Horror Acting

1 November 2009 5:46 PM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Former child star Corey Feldman finds it amusing his career has been based in horror movies - because he's so squeamish.

The Goonies actor admits he can't stand watching gruesome pictures and finds it ironic he ended up predominantly in the genre.

He says, "It's really funny because I was just thinking the other night that for a guy who's not into gore, I sure am in a lot of horror movies.

"There's been Gremlins, the Friday the 13th movies, Lost Boys, Tales From The Crypt, the new internet series Splatter and I also host the EyeGore Awards at Universal Studios.

"I like the occasional horror movie but I'm very squeamish, I don't like the gory parts. It wasn't part of the masterplan but somehow I became Vincent Price (iconic horror actor). I'm not sure how that happened. I should maybe put an end to it but it's a lot of fun making them and I really enjoy it." …

Exclusive Video: Corey Feldman and Roger Corman Talk Splatter

30 October 2009 12:39 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Whenever you get two extremely talented filmmakers together both with huge followings you can run the risk of egos clashing and prima donna behavior, and god forbid you add a famous actor into that equation, you could be writing a recipe for disaster. However that was not the case when filmmaking legend Roger Corman, acclaimed director Joe Dante and fan-favorite actor Corey Feldman collaborated for the exclusive new web-series, Splatter; which begins airing on-line October 29th. Sponsored by Netflix and available to subscribers and non-subscribers alike, the series can be seen by going to www.netflix.com/splatter beginning October 29th with a second installment airing November 6th and the entire series concludes on Friday, November 13. But what's the catch, you say? Viewers will have the opportunity to vote on line for which characters they think should live and which should die, so they will actually have control over the outcome of the series. …

Video: Corey Feldman Talks Lost Boys 3: The Thirst

30 October 2009 10:49 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

If he never does anything else with the rest of his life at least Corey Feldman can say he was in four of the most beloved movies of the last thirty-years. Beginning with Gremlins in 1984 at the age of thirteen Feldman went on to star in classic films such as The Goonies and Stand By Me among other movies but it was his role as Edgar Frog in The Lost Boys that has kept in the hearts and minds of fans for decades. He reprised his role in last year's extremely successful direct-to-dvd release Lost Boys: The Tribe and it was recently announced that he would be appearing in a third film as well. We had the opportunity to speak with Feldman early this week and in light of the recent news that his wife and The Two Coreys co-star, Susie Sprague-Feldman has filed for divorce, he seemed upbeat …

Feldman 'Deeply Hurt And Saddened' By Marriage Breakdown

29 October 2009 1:16 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Former child star Corey Feldman has spoken of his pain over wife Susie's decision to file for divorce - insisting he is "deeply hurt and saddened" by the breakdown of their marriage.

The Goonies actor married Playboy pin-up Susie Sprague in 2002, and the couple has a five-year-old son, Zen.

Sprague filed for divorce earlier this month, citing irreconcilable differences and stating she would seek full custody of their child.

But Feldman insists the action came as a shock, claiming he played no part in the "demise of the marriage".

In a statement, a rep for the star says, "Corey is deeply hurt and saddened by this unexpected change in their relationship, and has done nothing to contribute to the demise of the marriage."

The statement adds, "(Feldman is) hopeful that he and Susie can work to resolve this quickly and amicably, and he is fully committed to doing what is best for the welfare of their son." …

Interview with Ke Huy Quan – Data from The Goonies

25 October 2009 2:46 AM, PDT | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

Something special for Sunday morning I think, something that gets back to our HeyUGuys roots. We’ve been contacted by a very good friend of the site, Andy from TheGoonies.com and told of an interview she was able to conduct with Ke Huy Quan (known to us as Data from The Goonies) at Collectormania this year.

It’s a fantastic interview with plenty of great stories from the filming of one of our most cherished films, Andy does a great job with this and Ke is a gracious interviewee. A particular highlight is just at the end when he is reunited with a prop from the film and lo and behold, he’s Data again. It’s a wonderful catch up with an icon of our childhood and a real treat to be able to bring you.

‘Captain’ Lou Albano – 1933-2009

14 October 2009 7:50 PM, PDT | FilmJunk | See recent FilmJunk news »

It's a sad day in the entertainment world as one of it's most colourful characters has passed away.  'Captain' Lou Albano was 76.   While some know him from his starring role opposite John Ritter in the 1992 hit film Stay Tuned and his many appearances as Mario in the Super Mario Brothers Super Show, others may know him from his portrayal of Cyndi Lauper's Dad in the videos for 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun', 'She Bop' and 'The Goonies R Good Enough'.  I, for one, will always remember him as one of the greatest wrestling personalities of all time. Over his 42-year career "Captain" Lou managed 34 men to championship gold which is an accomplishment that not even Jimmy 'Mouth of the South' Hart or Bobby "The Brain" Heenan can match.  With his trademark rubber bands attached to his face he managed the likes of the U.S Express, …

Captain Lou Albano Will Always Be Cyndi Lauper's Video Dad

14 October 2009 12:10 PM, PDT | MTV Newsroom | See recent MTV Newsroom news »

Sad news today, as Louis Vincent Albano — known to the entertainment world as Captain Lou Albano — passed away this morning at the age of 76 according to WWE's official Web site. Albano is best known to people in the professional wrestling world, where he was an integral part of the rise of the WWF in the early 1980s. As both a wrestler and a manager, Albano was a profoundly charismatic man who cut a great promo and had an incredible presence, which allowed him to cross over into other areas of the entertainment world and was one of the reasons that the very first Wrestlemania in 1985 was so successful.

One of the most important entertainment alliances Albano made was with Cyndi Lauper, who was at her commercial peak when she teamed up with Captain Lou. She appeared on WWF programming leading up to Wrestlemania, and in turn Albano played Lauper's father …

Captain Lou Albano, WWE Hall Of Famer And Cyndi Lauper Collaborator, Has Left Us

14 October 2009 10:30 AM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Tragic news today from the professional wrestling community. WWE Hall of Famer Captain Lou Albano, 76, passed away today, only hours after the Miami Herald reported that he was at home with his family under hospice care. The news broke at wrestling enthusiast site PWInsider and was confirmed shortly after at WWE. It is a sad day for wrestling fans everywhere.

As a child of the '80s, my memories of Albano relate mainly to his time with the World Wrestling Federation. He was so cool, this screaming force of nature covered in rubber bands. As his star rose, Albano had the opportunity to leverage his newfound celebrity in Hollywood. He appeared in a number of films, including the John Ritter-starring "Stay Tuned" (a personal favorite). He also collaborated with pop star Cyndi Lauper on several music videos, including "The Goonies" tie-in, "The Goonies 'R' Good Enough" (video above), which …

Celebrate The Release Of 'Jennifer’s Body' With Cinema's Greatest Killer Chicks

18 September 2009 9:00 AM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

There is nothing quite like a killer woman. Not “killer” as in “awesome,” and I don’t mean some femme fatale either. I mean ladies who flat out kill. The killer woman is an automatic plus for almost any thriller or horror movie, a story figure with more sex appeal than a male murderer. Call me sexist, but seriously: would you rather get an eyeful of Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lechter or Megan Fox as Jennifer Check in “Jennifer’s Body”? Exactly.

Not having seen “Jennifer’s Body,” I can’t say how Fox's character measures up in cinema’s hall of killer chick fame. Do her demonic deeds measure up with Stephen King’s prodigal daughter Carrie? Is she as blood thirsty in her pursuit of eating high school boys as Natasha Henstridge in “Species”? The trailers just don’t tell me enough to know for sure!

Logan Lerman may be the next Daniel Radcliffe, but unlike his predecessor, he won't have come out of nowhere. Lerman is the lead in February's fantasy adventure Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (directed by Chris Columbus, who helmed the first two Harry Potter films), but he first gained notice five years ago as one of the titular brothers in the WB drama Jack & Bobby. Now, Lerman's got two different films hitting theaters: My One and Only, where he plays a young George Hamilton opposite Renée Zellweger, and Gamer, an action movie from Crank masterminds Neveldine/Taylor.

Movieline talked to the 17-year-old up-and-comer about The Goonies, the idea of casting Uma Thurman as Percy Jackson's hideous villain, and his plans for weathering potential Potter-like fame. …

Steven Spielberg Navigates Michael Crichton’s Pirate Latitudes

"...without Michael knowing it, or even me knowing it, it turns out Steven always wanted to direct his own pirate film." A quote from Stacy Snider, co-chair and CEO of Dreamworks, talking about Steven Spielberg's long-held desire to have his own pirate film. Of course, to anyone who has followed Spielberg's career can tell you that he has a thing for pirates -- he produced The Goonies, which had a pirate subplot, and directed Hook, which also had some high-flying kid pirates. Along with pirates, Spielberg has always had a thing for Michael Crichton as well. He adapted Crichton's Jurassic Park into one of the most memorable films of all-time. And now, according to USA Today, he will be once again tapping the work of the late author, with the adaptation of the posthumously released "Pirate Latitudes." Set for release November 24, "Pirate Latitudes" is said to the be the story of "a daring plan to infiltrate …
