The protagonist in this, as real as it gets, documentary film wants to get people to talk about events that happened at the end of WWII, and shortly after, in New Guinea. You need to watch it because I don't want to tell you what happened and what did he do about it. In my opinion, the protagonist is using wrong means to get to his ends. I don't agree with him. I am a pacifist and don't subscribe to violence in any form. While he got what he wanted, he paid a huge price for it. Because of his actions, he spent most of his life in prison. As far as film-making, the film is made really well. It is impossible to imagine that one can do a better job. The director recorded events as they appeared and didn't influence anything in anyway. As crazy as the protagonist appears to me (I have to correct myself, he suffered under some kind of psychological disorder and he needed professional help more than anything else), the director allowed him to act his way. That is perhaps very dangerous because if you know that someone will hurt or even kill another person, you make yourself responsible for the crime and your civil duty is to report it to the authorities before it happens. It was hard for me to watch this film and I have no idea what my position would be if what happened to the protagonist would happen to me.
