  • Continuity: A basket on the TV knocked off by Chucky's foot.

  • Continuity: After Chucky became alive, his red overall buttons appear and disappear throughout the film.

  • Continuity: Andy places Chucky in a rocking chair that is missing a runner on one side; minutes later, chucky is gone and the chair is rocking, both runners intact.

  • Crew or equipment visible: When Chucky is trying to get out of the fireplace, before he is set on fire, you can see a hand pushing him into the fire screen.

  • Continuity: The collar of Karen's coat changes between shots when she is talking to Andy outside his school.

  • Continuity: The drink Andy makes changes color.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Chucky mispronounces the French words of the voodoo chant. Instead of saying "Pouvoir des morts" (power of the dead), he says "poivre de le morte" (pepper of the dead) with quite a few spelling mistakes.

  • Continuity: In the police station when Andy is being interrogated by the detective, Andy smacks Chucky because he won't talk and his hair is in disarray. In the next shot his hair is slicked down.

  • Continuity: When Chucky finds his voodoo doll, the black man is wearing a tan shirt which changes to white, and then back again between shots.

  • Continuity: When the black man is dying and he is telling Ms. Barkley how to kill Chucky, he touches her coat with his blood-drenched hands, yet there are no finger prints or marks of blood on her coat.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Andy is hit by the baseball bat by Chucky you can see that the bat doesn't make contact.

  • Continuity: When Karen Barclay is looking at the Good Guy box where it says "Batteries Included", it says "Play Partners Toys" in the bottom left-hand corner. The company that produces the Good Guy dolls is called "Play Pals Toys", not Play Partners.

  • Factual errors: Towards the end of the movie while Andy's mother is looking for the man who sold the doll to her, she finds him and asks him if he remembered her. She says she had bought the doll the day before when in actuality she bought it days ago.

  • Miscellaneous: When Chucky hits Maggie on the face with a hammer, you can tell that Maggie is running backwards and can even see her deliberately jumping out the window.

  • Continuity: When Andy and Chucky are on the train, the white stripe around the bottoms of Chucky's shoes are suddenly red. The shade of red is also brighter.

  • Revealing mistakes: Before taking us inside of the train, the camera shows to us the train itself. It is very easy to see that a toy was used instead of the real one. The cars of this Subway train are too small to be the real ones.

  • Crew or equipment visible: When Andy is leaving school with Chucky you can see the reflection of the crew in the windows

  • Continuity: We see the babysitter pushed backwards out of the window. However, in the next scene she is falling face-down.

  • Continuity: The bite mark on Karen's arm changes positions and then mysteriously vanishes towards the end of the movie.

  • Continuity: When Norris chases Charles Lee Ray at the start of the film, he removes his gloves twice in the toy store.

  • Continuity: After Chucky is set alight, as he knocks down the fireplace guard you can see both his shoes have come off. In the following shots as he climbs across the sofa, his shoes are back on.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Andy jumps on his Mom's bed, on the morning of his birthday, he shouts "Wake up, Mummy, Wake up." but his mouth doesn't move.

  • Continuity: When Andy pours the cereal, and then the milk, there is cereal on the counter, to the left of the bowl. There is loads of cereal on the counter, then when Andy puts the burnt toast onto a plate, there is much less cereal. Then when he takes the tray from the counter, there's now loads of cereal on it.

  • Continuity: When the Good Guys Doll advert is playing on the Barclay's TV, in wide shots there is a box on top of the TV, yet in closeups of the TV the top of the TV has nothing on it.

  • Continuity: When Dr. Ardmore tries to give Andy the injection, Andy struggles from his grip and then grabs his glasses from his face. Then in the next shot of him, his glasses are back on his face. In the following shot they've gone again.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Chucky follows Andy home and drops from the chimney and kicks the cover off, it’s obvious that this isn't Chucky, but it's a real person dressed as Chucky.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Mike is in the car being attacked by Chucky, after he hits a metal can and makes sparks, he swerves violently in the road, and on the road you can see several pairs of dark skid marks in the exact same place as he swerves, obviously from previous takes.

  • Continuity: Extra bowls appear, when Maggie is putting away the washed utensils.

  • Continuity: When Chucky goes to see John, the voodoo man, he is sitting on John's counter. Between shots, one of the cupboards, above the counter, opens itself.

  • Revealing mistakes: The events of the film obviously take place in the middle of winter. When Andy goes to wake his mother up on the morning of his birthday, the living room is filled with sunlight, and he pulls the curtains in the bedroom open to let a great deal of light into the room. However, Andy's mother tells him "It's only 6:30 in the morning." Depending on the month, the sun would either just be rising or not yet have risen at 6:30am in Chicago, not shining as brightly as it appears to be.
