| NOTES |
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) is cut. Also included is a documentary about the making of Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). Michael McGarry comments: The Temple of Doom has always been cut in this country - cinema, TV and video are all the same (well, the TV version was the same - it gets shorter every time ITV shows it :-(). The only cut I know of is when the thugee priest removes a heart. In the uncut version you see the priests hand actually enter the man's chest - this is cut from the UK versions. Jason Ailean Taylor comments: The cut did actually bother me the first couple of times that I saw this film. The impression it gave me was that the whole heart removing stuff was just a sharltons gimick, basicly the victim beleived it would happen so died of a shock and the priest just palmed an animal heart from his robes. This being an old voodoo trick. If the original scene had been intact I would have never have thought of this, so it changed my opinion of the whole cult, which was central to the film's plot... |
