Tommy De Vito is a ruthless mobster who kills people as if they were nothing. This can be seen in the Spider scene whereby he shoots him in the chest repeatedly.

The opening scene may disturb some viewers as it shows a gangster in a trunk with his face bloodied and begging not be killed. However he is stabbed repeatedly with a large knife and then shot three times.
