Trivia

Jonathan Silverman played Eugene Morris Jerome in the Broadway production of "Broadway Bound" and also in the film Brighton Beach Memoirs (1986). Alternatively, Silverman plays Eugene's brother, Stanley Jerome, in this tele-film. Matthew Broderick, who originated the role on Broadway in "Brighton Beach Memoirs," and won a Tony for it, played Eugene in Biloxi Blues (1988), while Corey Parker portrayed Eugene in this tele-movie. Parker was the third actor to play the character in films and TV and the first on television. Also, Parker played Arnold Epstein, an Army buddy of Eugene's, alongside Broderick in Biloxi Blues (1988). See more »

Neil Simon's Broadway Bound
26 August 1999 | by (Marietta, OH) – See all my reviews

With the exception of Cronyn's Emmy Award winning performance as an aged grandfather, this television version of Neil Simon's final installment into the "trilogy" (with Brighton Beach Memoirs, Biloxi Blues) doesn't offer the warmth and heart Simon's plays are known.
