In the opening scene, a man and woman are shown having sex with sounds and movement, though no nudity is shown.Prostitutes and a brothel are a constant presence throughout the film.Some sexual dialogue is present including slang terms for genitalia and subtle references to masturbation. A prostitute offers the main character a "free one" and says that others of her trade have been giving his friends free ones too (the character declines).

The attack on the prosititute at the beginning of the film may disturb some viewers.Several characters talk about the attacked prostitute and add more gruesome, but untrue details to the story.At two points, a man attacks two men brutally in the name of "justice". Both are seen to have bloody injuries afterwards.A man hallucinates and speaks about seeing men he's killed with graphic detail.A man is whipped and threatened by another man. We later hear this man died off-screen.
