Cliffhanger is an extremely violent action film that show's many fight scenes in graphic unflinching detail including shooting, headbutts, punches and kicks.

Many character's are seen with severe injuries and wounds.

There are many gun fights, whenever someone is hit by a bullet it is shown in graphic detail.

A woman falls 1000's of feet from a safety line to her death.

Three FBI agents are shot, graphic scenes of bullet wounds.

A pilot is shot in the head by his co-pilot.

There are shots of a plane littered with dead bodies covered in blood.

A pilot is shot and falls 1000's of feet to his death from a plane.

A bad guy is shot but not killed, his accomplices throw him from a plane to get rid of him.

Plane crashes and everyone on board is injuried to some extent including bloody wounds.

A man falls to his death from a mountain when hit by an avalanche of snow.

Gabe (Sylvester Stallone) and a bad guy slide down a snow covered mountain ridge, Gabe punches the man in the face and then holds his face down into the snow as they continue to slide across the snow, subsequent shot of man with long raking scars across his face from having it scraped along the ground. Gabe manages to hold onto the edge of the ridge while the man falls 1000's of feet to his death.

Two teenage boys are brutally shot and killed by the gang of bad guys, first boy is explicitly shot several times with resultant gory bullet wounds.

When Hal (Michael Rooker) tries to warn the teenagers he is beaten.

A bad guy's leg is slashed with an ice pick, scenes shows blood flowing from wound.

Gabe & Kynette (Leon) have a brutal fight, many hard punches and kicks are thrown. Kynette threatens Gabe with an army knife. Gabe impales him on a stalagmite, the stalagmite is seen exiting from Kynette's body and there is lots of streaming blood shown.

Frank (Ralph Waite) is graphically shot when trying to help someone.

Kristel (Caroline Goodall) is shot in the back several times, the bullets are gorily shown exiting her chest.

Hal is brutally kicked and beaten by Delmar (Craig Fairbrass) in a prolonged and sadistic scene, there is a shot of Delmar kicking Hal in the face which sends his head jerking back and a large spurt of blood from his mouth into the air.

Delmar stands on Hal's hand while he is hanging on to the edge of a sheer cliff.

Hal stabs Delmar in the leg with a knife, shoots him in the chest with a shotgun and throws him off a mountain.

Travers (Rex Linn) fires at but misses a rabbit.

Travers is shot by Hal with a gun and by Gabe with a flare, the flare causes a large wound and a lot of blood to spurt into the air.

Travers dead body is shown floating under the ice.

Gabe and Qualen (John Lithgow) have a prolonged fight on top of an overturned helicopter, many puches and kicks are show.

Profanity

Frequent use of strong profanity and bad language including a racist remark.

Cliffhanger is a very violent action film where several character's are in a situation of sustained terror and threat.

There are many intense fight scenes which are very graphic.
