Better than average Troma

This is an amusing Troma offering (a "presents", not a Troma original, thankfully) and it is far better than their usual offerings. An Egyptian statuette of a cat possesses local kitties to give up their catty behavior and become buxom young ladies. This is low budget with decent humor and if you're a cat lover you'll understand it better than if you aren't. Seeing these woman still act like cats and goofy things like a prisoner being tied up in yarn are some of the more amusing bits. There's a guy that is monitoring cat behavior with some weird machine, his grandpa was killed by cats and therefore he's following them around looking for clues. Along comes a hitch hiker that fled Houston for less weirdness & finds only more in THIS here town. This isn't your average "let's make a movie because I found a camera" kind of film, either, the folks at the helm had a pretty decent idea what they were doing and there are quite a few inspired bits, like when asked her name, one young woman yells it out a few times, like what a cat might hear when its owner is calling. Overall this is a fun movie, not meant in any way to be scary, just goofy and amusing. 8 out of 10 stars.
