  • Continuity: Larry passes the same car three times in the Lincoln Tunnel.

  • Continuity: When Stu is in Vermont, when he is shooting the doctor, the third bullet hole appears and bleeds before the third shot is fired.

  • Continuity: When Trash-can man takes off on the 4-wheeler his goggles are around his neck, in the next shot they are on his face.

  • Continuity: After Stu knocks out Dr. Deitz, different camera angles reveal that Deitz is lying on the ground in two different places. (1) Straight, close to the door and his head up. (2) And at an angle, and his head to his side.

  • Revealing mistakes: While the Monster Shouter is shown "dead" on the steps in Central Park, he can clearly be seen blinking.

  • Continuity: In Part 1, The Monster Shouter dies on a flat and level sidewalk. In Part 2, The Monster Shouter lies dead on the Central Park stairs.

  • Continuity: When Trashcan Man is stuffing dynamite into the oil tank, there is one shot of his timer sitting next to the opening, before he takes the timer out of his backpack and places it next to the opening.

  • Continuity: When Lloyd Henreid and Poke first appear in the red convertible, there is a machine gun sticking up in the back seat. After Lloyd throws his beer can on the road the machine gun disappears. The machine gun Lloyd uses in the botched robbery has a shorter barrel and is clearly a different weapon than the one that was in the back seat.

  • Continuity: On the steps in Central Park, the dead Monster Shouter's right leg changes position.

  • Continuity: The bottle of Pepto Bismol that Nick sets on the bench disappears when Tom stands up.

  • Continuity: When Harold and Nadine are traveling to Las Vegas, it shows Nadine driving on the right side of the road. In the long shot, Nadine is on the left and Harold is on the right.

  • Crew or equipment visible: When Stu Redman leaves the disease-control room in Vermont, the camera and cameraman are reflected in the glass of the door.

  • Continuity: When Nick Andros meets Julie Lawry in the drugstore, he puts down the bottle twice.

  • Continuity: In Pratt, Kansas, when Nick Andros and Julie Lawry are in the drug store, Nick starts to push open the glass door when Julie kicks him in the rear. The next cut shows Nick pulling the door open instead of pushing it. Then Julie says "Get out. Stupid dummy".

  • Revealing mistakes: When Tom Cullen says, "M-O-O-N! That spells 'deaf and dumb'!", he adds an extra "O".

  • Continuity: When Nick and Tom first meet Ralph they are headed in opposite directions but going to the same place. Nick and Tom get into Ralph's truck and head back the way they came from yet they are all allegedly headed to Nebraska?

  • Continuity: The length of Larry's cigarette while on the phone in the bar.

  • Continuity: Harold flies off the front of his motorbike long before the bike hits the railing.

  • Continuity: The state of Nick's shirt after helping Mother Abigail into the truck.

  • Continuity: When Dayna is found to be a spy, she is forced to get dressed. When she puts her dress on, her black underwear is visible beneath. In the next scene, when she is brought before Flagg, the dress is no longer transparent.

  • Crew or equipment visible: When Stu is running down the stairs, just before he meets the dying doctor, you can see the shadow of the cameraman that's running after Stu on the wall ahead.

  • Continuity: A lot of the bodies in the church were not decomposed enough for the amount of time that they were there, unless a lot of those people lived in the church for about a month with no food.

  • Incorrectly regarded as goofs: The monster shouter was killed while Flagg is in Missouri, yet Larry found him dead on the steps in Central Park; as one submitter put it, "the guy is evil personified, he can do whatever he wants."

  • Continuity: Stu's opening of the elevator doors in the CDC reveals it to be on the second floor by the symbol on the frame. Moments later, as he's going down some two flights of stairs he tries to open the stair entrance to the second floor.

  • Boom mic visible: Early in Episode 4, when Lloyd and Dayna are in bed, the boom mic is clearly reflected in the bedroom mirror for several seconds.

  • Boom mic visible: In the rear quarter window of the green Malibu at the base of the valley where Stu breaks his leg.

  • Crew or equipment visible: Reflected in the gold rim of the wine glass when Larry and Nadine are drinking wine from the same glass.

  • Continuity: In the long shot of Stu climbing the embankment, you can see his broken and splinted right leg bending.

  • Continuity: Harold's zits disappear on Glen's porch when everyone is drinking beer, then reappear when he is puking at the Vermont Disease Center. After this, they disappear for the rest of the movie.

  • Continuity: When Trashcan Man reaches Las Vegas he enters Randall Flagg's base, the Union Plaza Casino. The table he falls asleep on is in the Stardust Casino. He covers the label with his hands, but it is still legible.

  • Continuity: After Bobby Terry kills Dave Roberts and Judge Farris, he turns Dave's body on its back, and Dave's legs are together and his arms are at his sides. When Bobby Terry is looking at Judge Farris's body, Dave's legs are apart and his arms are spread out. When Randall Flagg is killing Bobby Terry, Dave's arms are back at his sides.

  • Continuity: Nick's backpack disappears for a few seconds after Tom helps Nick up, then it reappears for about one second and you see Nick taking it off, presumably dropping it on the ground.

  • Boom mic visible: The boom's shadow is visible on the steps of Nadine's house in Boulder.

  • Continuity: The length and thickness of Larry's beard changes drastically a couple times as Flagg's men take them on the highway.

  • Revealing mistakes: Stu Redman kills Dr Dietz with a semi-auto pistol. When Stu fires, the slide does not cycle back and forth and expell spent cartridges as all such pistols do when fired.

  • Continuity: When the Monster Shouter is killed in Central Park, he's only carrying his bell. When Larry finds him later, he has his sign and his bell.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Nick first gets off his bike in town and the camera cuts to an interior shot of a dead man in his car, the man's chest is visibly rising and falling.

  • Revealing mistakes: After the bomb goes off in the house where the council meeting is being held many of the people escaping/being thrown from the house can be seen covered in a protective jelly to guard them from the fire.

  • Continuity: When Stu is fleeing the center for disease control he sees an elevator that shows he is on the 3rd floor. He then goes down 2 flights of stairs and ends up on the 3rd floor, from which he exits the building at ground level.

  • Continuity: After Campion flees Project Blue, Baby Lavon throws her doll out the window of the car on the outside of the base, the doll is then shown being pecked at by the crow inside of the base.

  • Continuity: When Larry and Nadine are having a dinner in a restaurant before leaving New York City, the candles on the table disappear (when Larry serves the steaks) and then reappear again (when they're talking about leaving).

  • Miscellaneous: When Nick opens third jail cell, the cup on the tray has been moved to the inside of the cell, when it clearly was on the outside as Nick set it down.

  • Factual errors: Street scenes said filmed in Pratt, Kansas were not filmed there as there are no mid-block crosswalks in Pratt, and to a former resident, none of the buildings and second stories were authentic existing in Pratt. Also, fifty miles west of Pratt, the highway has been leveled for years so there are no downhill scenes (even allowing for long lens compression) in the highways west of Pratt.

  • Continuity: When Ray Booth and the bullies attack Nick on the road, his hat is knocked off. When he fights back, he's wearing it again for a second. Additionally, it was a stunt double, so maybe they were trying to cover his face/hair.

  • Continuity: Nadine pulls her silver revolver out of her purse twice when Larry first comes down the steps in New York.

  • Factual errors: On the hospital name card in Fran's baby's cradle, it lists the baby's head size as 29" and her chest as 30". These measurements should be centimeters, as most newborns' heads are about 14". An average adult's head is about 22.5".

  • Continuity: When Stu and Glen are on Glen's porch and they hear motorbikes coming, they both jump up, and Glen puts his hat on. Yet in the next shot, with Stu coming down the porch steps, Glen is tangled in the hammock and trying to get out.

  • Continuity: In the two scenes with Trashcan Man in Vegas, just after he wakes up on the hotel room floor, you can clearly see that the bandages on his head were changed quite often. The stain pattern on the bandages are completely different in just about every shot!

  • Revealing mistakes: When the Free Zone Committee meets for the barbecue, blooms can be seen on the trees in the background indicating that it is spring. The meeting is supposed to take place in late August, however, long after the blossoms would have dropped off.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Larry tells his mother that his album isn't on the Hot 100 yet. The Hot 100 is a song chart in Billboard. The album chart is the Top 200.

  • Continuity: When Ralph sets Stu's broken leg, Larry is holding Stu's hand. Just as Glen arrives with the soda, Larry is juggling something between his hands, but when Glen sits down, Larry is seen still holding Stu's hand.

  • Errors in geography: As Nadine (with Stephen King driving) arrive into "Eastern Colorado" there are mountains around them and close by. Eastern Colorado is very flat, similar to Kansas and other plain states. The mountains only come into view about central Colorado.

  • Factual errors: When Larry Underwood pulls up in his car to his mother's house, his California license plate clearly reads "Digyoman", which contains 8 letters. In California during the time the film takes place, there was a maximum of 7 characters available on official state license plates.

  • Boom mic visible: When Nick goes back to Tom on the bench with Julie following, the muffler of a boom mic is briefly visible.

  • Errors in geography: After we first are introduced to Trashcan Man, he blows up a refinery in Powtanville, Indiana. In most of the long shots in the scene, however, tall mountains with snow on them can be seen surrounding the area - mountains that would be nowhere near Indiana.
