Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

A mother discovers her husband has been molesting their 13-year old daughter. None is shown except for a brief scene where the father forces her to touch his clothed crotch, it is not graphic and you do not see the hand actually touch it, therefore it is mostly implied. A man bends over and his wife relizes his pants have been split and we can see his underwear. His wife laughs at him.

Violence & Gore

A struggle at the top of some stairs results in an elderly lady tumbling down; she is shown with a bloody mouth. A woman wrecks a kitchen looking for a weapon. Local kids taunt a woman and vandalize her house. A man hits a woman in the back with a piece of firewood. A woman hits a man in the head and his head bleeds. The man and woman threaten each other with death as one holds an ax. He chases her, drags her down and tries to choke her. A young girl cuts her neck with broken glass leaving bloody marks. A man falls into a well. None of the violence in this film is graphic.

Profanity

9 F-words, 15 scatological terms, a lot of milder obscenities; some obscene graffiti.

Father character is an alcoholic. Shown consistently drinking and intoxicated Young woman pervasively smokes cigarettes Young woman is shown drunk and emotionally distraught

Elderly woman lying critically injured at the bottom of the stairs. The facial expression, lighting, and angle make this a bit eerie for younger viewers Several "jump" scenes. Loud sounds come at otherwise silent moments. Overall this film is a very mild film. If it were not for the swearing it would have easily been rated PG-13.
