I must say, this is the worlds worst movie. I'm talking worst, bottom of the barrel, the absolute pits. Which is why I absolutely love it! Confused? I have been a comic book fan for so many years that I believe I was born in the Negitive zone. This movie, as bad as it is, is something I both have to love out of respect to the characters, and on the simple fact that taken as a corny movie, its amazing! Roger Corman... you da man.
If you really want to know the purpose behind this, get the bonus DVD that came with the original Spider-man gift set, featuring Kevin Smith. Durring one interview with Stan Lee, Kevin asks about this movie. Stan explains that the studio was about to loose its rights to make the movie, so they quickly threw something together with a minuscule budge simply to retain the rights for a bigger movie (Out on July 8th of this year YAY).
Even though we can only view this movie with its poor bootleg quality, I must give it thumbs up. Given the budget the actors, and the fact that it was never intended to be released. I'm sure the new movie will score at least a 44 out of 10 in my book.
