Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

Hyenas are involved in many of the fight scenes: one has its cheek slashed, others are knocked around, one lands in a thorny patch and several fall into a brush fire. One character is shown being trampled over in a wildebeest stampede, and then is shown falling off from a cliff to his death. Another character rolls down a long rocky incline, and almost dies of heat exposure. There is a fight ending with minescule blood camouflaged with red background, with the losing participant being eaten by hunger-crazed hyenas (off-camera). One character is momentarily dunked into a boiling pot, though is mostly just sitting atop it.

In a song, Scar jumps near a hyena, splitting open the ground beneath it. The hyena then falls into what appears to be lava in the split, presumingly killing it.

Profanity

None.

Death of Simba's father may cause emotional distress to young children. Some fight scenes of conflict between characters. Pretty mild. Considered safe for most ages.

The film repeatedly presents violence as an acceptable solution to most, if not *all* conflicts, even the most minor of disagreements, and some parents may not want such a lesson to be taught to their children.
