John Travolta struggled to control his jealousy when wife Kelly Preston filmed love scenes with Tom Cruise and Kevin Costner - because it was "hard to watch" his partner in bed with Hollywood's sexiest stars.
The Pulp Fiction star, who has been married to Preston for 18 years, hates seeing his wife get intimate on-screen.
But he breathed a sigh of relief when she partnered up with funnyman Robin Williams for their new movie Old Dogs - because he's such a close pal of the actor.
He says, "I have been jealous of many of her co-stars. I didn't like her making love to Tom Cruise. I didn't like her making love to Kevin Costner in Love Of The Game. It was hard to watch. All I can say is thank God for Robin. I adore Robin so it was Ok with him." »

Is Eyes Wide Shut really one of the worst movies of all time?By Lee Pfeiffer
MSNBC has listed reader's choices for the biggest film turkeys of all time - and the list itself is the biggest turkey of all. Sure, there are the undeniable bombs that one would expect to find in any sane list of worst movies: Showgirls, Ishtar and Battlefield Earth. However, these readers must have been into the cooking sherry a bit too early to include Pulp Fiction (too much profanity), The Blair Witch Project (the camera was too shaky) and Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut, which is regarded, at worst, as a noble failure but certainly not an outright turkey. Even the innocuous Mr. Bean is not spared. The readers must be of the same school of film criticism as the friend who once accompanied me to a screening of Lawrence of Arabia. At the conclusion of David Lean's masterpiece, »

His career in tatters since being sent to incarcerated, the producer of "Pulp Fiction" paints an icy portrait of life in jail via Twitter. In 1995, Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary won the Oscar for best screenplay for "Pulp Fiction", a few months after having taken home the Golden Palm from Cannes. 14 years later, while Tarantino is busy being outraged at the criticism lobbed at "Inglourious Basterds" around the world, Avary languishes in Ventura County Jail, sentenced to one year for causing the death of a passenger in a car accident while driving drunk. The Los Angeles Times, which was first to scoop the press, has not been able to confirm 100% that the handle @avary really belongs to the filmmaker, or if someone else is sending tweets in his name. No matter who's doing the actually writing, it shows the world how scary Avary's prison life is, with stories of drugs, »

If you read Twitter-Wood for the pictures, you picked a good day to stop by, because I've got a veritable Twitter slideshow set up for you today, starting with a Woody Allen jazz performance and including but not limited to Emmy Rossum in a turkey hat and Shakira hobnobbing with Larry King.
You may or may not have known that "Pulp Fiction" writer Roger Avary was currently serving time at Ventura County Jail in California. His tweets from inside recently came to my attention, such today's where he introduces a new neighbor. Check those posts out after the jump along with Richard Kelly's question about "Avatar," Dane Cook's problem with Adam Lambert and Michael Showalter's feelings about "Bad Lieutenant." In 140-character takes, Roger Avary has built up a vivid portrait of life in Ventura county jail where he is being held
When Roger Avary, the Oscar-winning screenwriter of Pulp Fiction, was last month sentenced to a year behind bars for his role in a fatal car crash, it seemed that a promising writing career had come to an abrupt end.
But a string of posts on social networking site Twitter has revealed that he is apparently still chronicling the underbelly of American culture.
In a series of 140-character takes, Avary has built up a vivid portrait of life in Ventura county jail where he is currently being held. "Sickness spreads throughout the facility like brush fires," he writes in his latest tweet from November 22, "and #34 [his identification number in prison] is helpless to avoid the outbreak and inevitable infection."
Though there has been no official confirmation that the Twitter feed is Avary's, there are various clues to its authenticity, »

Oscar-winning filmmaker Roger Avary has reportedly been tweeting from Ventura County jail. The 44-year-old Pulp Fiction co-writer, who was sentenced to a year behind bars in September for causing a fatal car crash, has been updating followers on his progress via an alleged Twitter account. He wrote in a post dated November 7: "'They're putting Saltpeter in the food,' one inmate tells #34, 'to shrink our d***s and kill our sex drive... don't eat the soy meat.' Okay." By the Los Angeles Times
As is often the case with Twitter, screenwriter Roger Avary recently tweeted about what he had for lunch. It was soy, which, an acquaintance told him, contains a dangerous substance intended to shrink their genitals and reduce their sex drives.
Just another day in Ventura County Jail.
Avary, who won an Oscar for writing the "Pulp Fiction" screenplay, appears to be sending updates to Twitter from the big house.

John Travolta has been honoured by his adopted Florida hometown - the community named a street after his daughter Ella Bleu.
The Pulp Fiction star and his family paid tribute to the people of Ocala city for their support after the January death of his 16-year-old son Jett, during an appearance at the Friday premiere of their movie Old Dogs.
And Mayor Randy Ewers echoed his appreciation for the area's most famous family, thanking Travolta and his actress wife Kelly Preston for their fundraising efforts and presenting nine-year-old Ella with a street sign from the newly dubbed Ella Bleu Way.
Travolta held back tears as he told the crowd of locals, "Kelly, Ella and I want to thank all of you for supporting us over the last year. It's meant the world to us. We know that we have a community. We know that we have friends. And we know that we are loved. We appreciate it. Jett appreciates it. We love you, Ocala."
The Travolta family appearance at the premiere and a gala later in the evening on Friday is estimated to have raised more than $37,500 (£23,430) for charity.
It's one of the actor's rare public appearances with his family since they lost Jett, who died after suffering a seizure during a family holiday in the Bahamas. »

John Travolta and his family made a rare public appearance at the Florida screening of his new movie Old Dogs to raise money for charity.
The Pulp Fiction star walked the red carpet at the premiere on Friday with his wife Kelly Preston and daughter Ella Bleu, who makes her big screen debut as a voice in the Disney movie.
It is one of the few times the trio have been out in public together since the tragic loss of the couple's 16-year-old son, Jett, who died from a seizure during a family holiday in the Bahamas earlier this year.
The private gala screening helped pull in donations for a host of charities the Travoltas support, including funds for the The Jett Travolta Foundation - which raises money for children with learning difficulties. »

Until they announced Silent Hill 2 recently, I had no idea how many Screen Rant readers were actually fans of Christophe Gans’ 2006 movie adaptation. But now that I know, I’m keeping you guys in the loop about the sequel is developing.
Earlier (this week) I reported that Silent Hill 2 could possibly start filming next year. In that report came word that returning writer Roger Avary (Pulp Fiction) has some ‘crazy, cool stuff’ already worked into the script. That all sounded good, but questions like would Gans be returning, would star Radha Mitchell be returning, would the movie be a direct sequel, etc., still needed answering.
Well, thanks to producer Don Carmody and Shock Til Ya Drop, some of those questions are indeed starting to get answered.
For those who don’t know, Roger Avary was recently sentenced to a year in jail following a vehicular manslaughter charge from a 2008 car accident. »

Silent Hill 2 's future was looking pretty foggy. After grossing nearly $100 million in worldwide box office receipts, there was the question of whether a follow-up to Christophe Gans' 2006 adaptation of the Silent Hill video game was even going to happen. After all, it was met with a mixed audience reaction. Some were dissatisfied with the story; others appreciated the familiar villains and brutal violence. Then, in September, Davis Films officially announced Roger Avary ( Pulp Fiction ) was returning to pen the next entry and production was to rev up shortly after Resident Evil: Afterlife wrapped in Toronto, Canada. Avary, however, was sentenced to prison for a year in the weeks following this news, leaving the status of the sequel up in the air. "Well, we... »

Welcome to a new series here on Cinematical where we select an actor or actress and the role we think is their all time best.
Last August, "Meryl Streep" wrote an op-ed piece for The Onion called "Name One Masterpiece Of Cinema That I've Starred In." It was really written by the Onion staff, of course, but they (and Streep) made a good point. For a woman who is very possibly the finest living actor of any sex, she has made very few truly unforgettable films. Her resume doesn't contain anything quite like Rear Window, The Godfather, Chinatown or Pulp Fiction. Case in point: the article brings up Kramer vs. Kramer. "Streep" says "I'd watch it if it were on," but it isn't really a masterpiece. Also, it's more Dustin Hoffman's movie than Streep's movie, and if you look at it that way, it ranks pretty far down on Hoffman's list of classics. »

I remember when Clerks was announced. It was a Sundance favorite and trailered along with Pulp Fiction. Having had some counter experience, and being a Star Wars nerd, Clerks looked like sweet elixir. And I went to see it opening weekend (in a double feature with Stargate), and was in the Kevin Smith. Revisiting his films Clerks, Chasing Amy and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back on Blu-ray in the Kevin Smith collection is a chance to wrestle with what makes Kevin Smith great and somewhat terrible. My review after the jump.
Clerks is one of those films that - at the time - you wanted to root for. It was a small film from a filmmaker who scrapped together his pocket change and made a film, and the history of films like that which received a theatrical release were always encouraging. Spike Lee, Richard Linklater, etc. Now, now that »

The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day
Directed by: Troy Duffy
Cast: Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus, Billy Connolly, Clifton Collins Jr., Julie Benz
Running Time: 2 hrs
Rating: R
Release Date: November 13, 2009 (Limited)
Plot: The vigilante assassins (Flanery, Reedus) return from hiding in Ireland to stop a copycat killer who is putting a bad mark on their legacy. While back home they attempt to fix the unfinished business with the powerful Yakavetta Mob.
Who’S It For? If you like action movies with slow motion shootouts, slim plots, and shabby moral lessons, then you probably saw 1999’s original The Boondock Saints. Now that ten years have past, do you want the same thing again, or would a hundredth re-watch of the first suffice?
Expectations: The first film succeeded with a few clever ideas, such as a different way to imagine a shootout. Now that the Saints aren’t particularly new to us, »
