A knife-wielding scene from Samuel L. Jackson and Kerry Washington's new movie has been cut - because the star appeared to "lose it" on camera.
Jackson plays a cop who disapproves of the mixed-race couple which moves in next door to him, and goes to great lengths to let them know how he feels.
In one scene, Washington's character pretends to seduce the Pulp Fiction star's character - and then threatens him with a knife.
Washington says, "It got removed. Samuel L. Jackson follows me back into my house and I seduce him to the point where he is drawn in and then I threaten his life with a knife.
"The producers felt like, at that point in the film, my character was the only sane one and they needed her to stay sane in the mix. She was losing it.
"But it was fun to shoot, to hold a knife up to Sam."

The Helen of Troy in the epic movie "Troy", Helen Kruger, has become the first female actor joining the varied cast ensemble of "Inglorious Bastards". For the World War II action drama, the 32-year-old has been tapped to tackle the prominent role of German actress Bridget Von Hammersmark.
Revealing the fact at the 2008 Venice International Film Festival, she gushed, "I just received a call from Quentin Tarantino, asking me to be in his next movie. I don't want to give too much away, but I'll play a German movie star." The role of Hammersmark has earlier been linked to other German actress Nastassja Kinski.
Beside Kruger, another actor recently signed for the project is German television actor Christoph Waltz. He will be filling the shoes of the primary villain, Colonel Hans Landa. His character was previously rumored to be given to Hollywood big name Leonardo DiCaprio, but later director Quentin Tarantino

Funnyman Bernie Mac missed out on seeing the movie that friends feel sure will cement his reputation as a bona fide film star - because he fell ill before a finished print was complete.
Soul Men co-star Samuel L. Jackson insists the late comedian would have been proud of his final film - because he was great in it.
The Pulp Fiction star, who recently attended Mac's funeral in Chicago, Illinois says, "He's awesome in the film. I saw it a week before he passed. I was talking to his manager, who said he never got a chance to see it.
"That's a tragedy because it's one of the best things he's ever done. It's the Bernie we know and it's the Bernie we love."
Jackson warns Mac fans that the funnyman looks a little ill in the movie: "Bernie was thinner because he'd been sick off and on for a while, so he wasn't that (American) football-looking guy that I used to know."
Mac died on 9 August after losing his battle with pneumonia.

Samuel L. Jackson is an acting veteran who has basically seen it all as he’s worked in his share of acclaimed pictures (Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown), flops (Sphere, The Man), and box-office juggernauts (the Star Wars franchise). Jackson sat down with Hollywood Outbreak to discuss his first paid acting job, and now years later, he explains why getting a [...]

I have a confession to make. I used to be a rabid fangirl of Quentin Tarantino -- so much so that I went all sorts of nuts when introduced to my first college poster sale. My poor roommate ... she had to deal with one half of a room adorned with posters of John Travolta, Tim Roth, Samuel L. Jackson, and more. My guns and bad guys were balanced by her posters of funky black and white photos and art prints.
It wasn't that I was a huge fan of ultra-violent films; I just couldn't get enough of a film laden with insanely catchy conversations and even catchier music. I especially loved Pumpkin, and Honey Bunny. So, in honor of bad girls and guys who love each other while wreaking havoc on the world, I give you two Tarantino flicks

Brad Pitt is a bastard.
Nope, I’m not starting up a Jennifer Aniston fansite, I’m letting you know that it is now official that Pitt has signed on to play Aldo Raines in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Bastards.
This isn’t exactly big news as we’ve been talking about it for weeks, but Mr Pitt has now put his signature on the dotted line.
Also signing up to the WWII flick is Hostel director Eli Roth. Roth who will play Sgt. Donnie Donowitz had a small role in Qt’s Grindhouse segment Death Proof, and the Pulp Fiction director also produced both Hostel films, so the two guys are obviously buddies.
The Office cast member, writer and producer Bj Novak has also come on-board; as has Shaun of The Dead star Simon Pegg (replacing Tim Roth); David Krumholtz (Numbers) and Nastassja Kinski.
The cast is shaping up nicely,

Movie bosses at Universal Pictures have confirmed Brad Pitt has signed to star in Quentin Tarantino's World War II drama Inglorious Bastards.
The Pulp Fiction director reportedly jetted off to France to meet Pitt while he waited for his partner Angelina Jolie to give birth to their twins last month - and persuaded him to take the role of a Tennessee hillbilly who assembles a team of Jewish-American soldiers in the film.
Shooting will begin in Germany in October and Tarantino hopes to have the picture ready for next year's Cannes Film Festival in France, according to Daily Variety.

Well, well, it seems Quentin Tarantino is up to his old casting tricks and this time he may have even topped himself. Remember the eyebrows raised when John Travolta was cast in Pulp Fiction after years of nothing but crappy straight to video work? Well, hold on for this one ...
The UK’s Telegraph is reporting that Tarantino has just cast pop starlet Britney Spears in the role of Varla - a lesbian killer (as in a killer who is lesbian) - in his upcoming remake of Russ Meyer’s Faster Pussycat, Kill! Kill!. If this works - which I have my doubts about - it could be a brilliant move. If not, Tarantino has just opened himself up to a massive amount of derision.
In other Tarantino casting news, word is also circulating that he’s cast his friend, director Eli Roth, to a significant role in his upcoming Inglorious Bastards.

For fans of the sublime, manic sense of humor found in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, the promise of a whole TV series' worth of Simon Pegg, Edgar Wright, Nick Frost and other awesome British funny-folk is enough to induce fits of geeked-out glee. Unfortunately, "Spaced" has been just as much a rumor as an actual show for anyone technically incapable of illegally downloading shows from torrent sites. Sure there was the odd showing on BBC America, Imported DVDs, and a smattering of YouTube clips, but there are always strings attached. It's never been ours. Last year I was fortunate enough to see an episode while on a flight to London, and even though the sound was crap and it was edited, I could still tell it was something special. Now that "Spaced" is officially on DVD, it's proven to be more than merely special. Created and written

Samuel L. Jackson is just full of good news this week. The star of the upcoming graphic novel adaptation The Spirit is attending Comic Con in support of that flick (due out at Christmas), and there's news about another Afro Samurai project as well as a Nick Fury/Avengers update.
Ace Showbiz says that Jackson aims for us to see more of Nick Fury, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. in all the upcoming Marvel movies, culminating in "the big one," as he calls it, 2011's The Avengers.
"Yeah, I'm looking forward to making that character a bit more integral, in terms of the other stories that are happening," says Jackson, who'll be in his early 60s by the time The Avengers gets here. "Iron Man 2, Captain America, Thor, and hopefully the big one that's coming in 2011, when they put everybody together."
Apparently, Jackson's dying to start crankin' out the cameos,

David Frank knows more than you. Care to disagree? Congratulations Christopher Nolan. You just delivered the best comic-book film ever. And creeping hell, it happens to be one of the all-time great sequels too. And did I mention it just shattered box-office records like a sledgehammer on a potato chip? What are you doing next.after going to Disney World of course? Oh yes, you might just attempt to break the dreaded comic-book film trilogy curse. Good luck mate, succeeding with that will make your accomplishments on The Dark Knight seem down-right pathetic. After witnessing the cholesterol reducing* genius of The Dark Knight this weekend, a weird thought struck me. Do we need a third entry in Nolan's Batman trilogy? Don't get me wrong, we all want to see one. But should Nolan (who's technically not signed on for a third film, but I'd be shocked if he passed) risk

You know you've got yourself one crazy comedy when a man who plays video games suddenly finds himself shooting real zombies and a woman breaks up with her boyfriend while wearing melodramatic Gatsby-esque apparel. Considering that one of the minds behind "Spaced" is "Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz" co-creator and star Simon Pegg (right, with white hair), it's no surprise that it's also an absolute blast.

Upon its release in 1994, Milcho Manchevski's debut film Before The Rain was often compared to Pulp Fiction, because it came out around the same time, and also featured a three-part narrative structure founded on a fractured timeline. Fourteen years later, when fractured timelines have become so common that even TV sitcoms use them, the structure of Before The Rain doesn't seem quite so novel, and frankly, its repetition of images, sounds, and characters from storyline to storyline now recalls the overly familiar "everything's connected" meta-irony of movies like Crash and Babel. Time and imitation have sapped some of Before The Rain's vitality. And yet the movie is still tense and moving, perhaps because there's something undeniable about its bleak depiction of ancient tribal conflicts in the Balkans. In the film's first section, "Words," Grégoire Colin plays a young Macedonian monk who discovers an Albanian girl hiding in his.

Pulp Fiction has topped a new magazine poll to find the best film of the past 25 years.
The Quentin Tarantino cult favourite beat the Lord of The Rings trilogy and Titanic to land at the top of Entertainment Weekly's New Classics list.
The publication claims the 1994 film "opened a new universe of mainstream storytelling".
Also on the movie list is Toy Story, Saving Private Ryan, Blue Velvet and Hannah and Her Sisters.
Meanwhile, The Silence of The Lambs was named the best movie poster, The A-Team nabbed the best TV theme song and The Simpsons beat The Sopranos and Seinfeld to land the best TV show on the small screen New Classics list.
In music, Prince's Purple Rain was named the top album, ahead of Lauryn Hill's The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and Achtung Baby by U2.
And J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter + The Goblet of Fire came in second on the New Classics books list, behind Cormac McCarthy's The Road.
Finally, Madonna's wedding dress-clad appearance at the 1984 MTV Video Music Awards beat the opening credits of TV show Sex and The City for the top Pop Culture Moment that Rocked Fashion, and Angels In America was named the top stage show of the past 25 years.

Hollywood actor Samuel L. Jackson is set to follow in the footsteps of Salma Hayek and become an executive producer for a U.S. TV network.
Hayek found success behind the scenes by executive producing hit show Ugly Betty and now Jackson has followed suit by signing a deal with CBS Paramount - the studio behind the Csi: Crime Scene Investigation franchise.
The agreement will see the Pulp Fiction star develop and executive produce projects for the studio through his Uppity Films production company - and he is also open to the idea of appearing in any shows he develops, much like Hayek's sporadic guest spots in Ugly Betty.
CBS Paramount president David Stapf is delighted to see Jackson sign the two-year deal.
He says, "Samuel Jackson is not only a fan of television but a really astute historian who knows it well."
The star has previously produced Spike TV's animated series Afro Samurai which returns to U.S. TV screens this autumn.
