Elijah Wood and fellow co-star Robin Williams have signed up for Happy Feet 2. Just exactly what the world needs – another Happy Feet film. The Hollywood Reporter have it that Woods and Williams will be heading down under early next year to record their parts. The original had a fairly large cast of A-listers, but only Wood and Williams are confirmed so far. Nothing is known of plot details, needless to say, it will revolve around dancer extraordinaire – Mumbles, and an adventure somewhere. Recently, Robin Williams announced his movie choices will take a darker turn…did this include Happy Feet?
George Miller is also prepping Mad Max: Fury Road, so it will be interesting to see which comes first. The first Happy Feet film was as daft as a brush with a stellar cast. It also won an Oscar. Where will Mumbles go to next? Broadway?

Despite a recent surge of digital filmmakers taking advantage of new technologies, such as the Red Camera, not all directors are keen to say goodbye to 35mm completely. Oscar winner Andrew Lesnie, the director of photography on the new Australian film Bran Nue Dae along with The Lord of the Rings trilogy and Babe amongst others, was determined to shoot the romantic comedy in 35mm.

Remember "The Neverending Story?" I honestly remember Limahl's pop song from the film more than the movie :happy
But I heard that the film will get the reboot treatment from "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" folks (the Kennedy/Marshall Co.) and Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way production.
Right now, both parties are in talks with Warner Bros. which acquired the rights to the franchise.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the new film "will examine the more nuanced details of the book that were glossed over in the first pic." Ooooh, nuanced, I'm so there!
I almost forgot that Wolfgang Petersen directed the original 1984 film after he made the fantastic "Das Boot."
Oh and did you know that the source material of the film is a German book written by Michael Ende called "Die Unendliche Geschichte?"
So why didn't they ask the "99 Luftballons" singer Nena to sing the original song?
