Trivia:
One of the promotional items distributed to tie-in with the film was a booklet called How to Speak Cluelessly; in it was a lexicon of many of the invented terms used for the Clueless world (some of which became part of real teen lingo at the time). An example: a Baldwin is a very handsome male, as in the famous sibling actors.

Goofs:
Miscellaneous: The debate teacher refers to Cher as "Cher Horowitz," but the name on her report card (viewed when her father is looking at it, after the grades have been changed) is "Cher Hamilton." The piece of mail her father tosses aside right before looking at her report card says "Melvin Hamilton" also.

When I saw the trailers for this film, I was completely opposed to it. Indeed, I almost refused to watch it the first time I had the opportunity, but now I am most happy I did. It is one of the most watched movies in my collection (though granted that is more because of friends than myself, as I've seen it too many times on my own to want to spoil myself with extra viewing). It's utterly charming, and agreeable to all the members of my overwhelmingly large family. To say that this movie lacks depth is a no -brainer, but to not watch it for this reason is pointless - especially when barely anything that comes through these days has point. Point is not important to an entertaining film, it's the lines of dialogue that seem to flow endlessly through these characters, and the masterful way that Amy Heckerling adapted the script from Jane Austen's Emma. I read the book following the viewing of this movie, and Harriet Smith to me will always resemble Tai. Wonderful Film!
