Wathcing "Terra Estrangeira" is like taking part of a romantic trip. The story between Brazil and Portugal is an excuse to match poor and tough conditions for immigrants but mainly everything is made and organized to make us dream about romantic escape, about desperate trip towards the unknown. Walter Salles is a genius, specially if we talk about "film technique". This black and white movie has wonderful pictures and it has the best photos I've ever seen. The actors are pretty good. So how come this movie isn't rated more than that?! We should escape from American blockbusters sometimes to see that kind of movie which is pure art.
