Imagine taking the writer of the classic Troma flick Tromeo and Juliet, the Zack Snyder Dawn of the Dead remake, and the web series PG , and giving him a superhero to work with. What could possibly be the result? A trusty wrench-swinging super power-free hero called the Crimson Bolt in the shape of Rainn Wilson.
Variety reports that Wilson, Ellen Page, and Liv Tyler will star in James Gunn's comedy Super -- which has got to be the "f'd up low-rent Watchmen piece" being shopped to indie outlets back in March. Zeroing in on the superhero genre, the flick will focus on an average guy who finds his "pseudo-superhero alter ego" after seeing that his wife (Tyler) is falling for a charming drug dealer. There's no mention of who Page will play in this story, but it would make for quite an interesting twist if she's the one doling out the drugs.

Pittsburgh, Pa has ten days before all hell breaks loose. That's because from September 18th through the 20th at the Crowne Plaza, those fine folks that put on ZombieFest have broadened their horizons into a new convention, now called "Horror Realm."
The convention will feature the usual fare of guests and vendors, but this one also has an emphasis on horror authors and artists with sponsors such as Library of the Living Dead and Permuted Press, Rue Morgue magazine, and The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. The con also features horror author panels and a zombie film festival, as well as contests ranging from jello brain eating, scariest tattoo, hockey mask art, horror trivia, and costumes. There will also be demonstrations by the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and a flash fiction contest sponsored by Permuted Press, as well as a live production of Pittsburgh's hosted horror program It's Alive. Of course,

It’s the latest effort from James Felix McKenney (Automatons) and producer Larry Fessenden and it stars a whole lot of old-school horror icons, Angus Scrimm and Reggie Bannister among them. It’s Satan Hates You and Fangoria have just gotten an exclusive look at the trailer.
Inspired by films from the golden age of religious cinema, Satan Hates You is a graphic horror film that tells the stories of two individuals and their personal struggles with Lucifer himself.
We follow Marc (Don Wood) a homicidal maniac driven by demons buried deep within his soul, and Wendy (Christine Spencer) a young woman who lives life fast and hard without a second’s thought to the consequences. Their separate paths will eventually cross, but will it be on the road to salvation or the highway to hell?
Also starring: Angus Scrimm (Phantasm, TV’s Alias), Reggie Bannister (Phantasm, Bubba Ho-tep), Michael Berryman
