A Guilty-Pleasure Masterpiece, 14 June 2003

Quick plot summary : A creature takes the form of a beautiful woman (Shu Qi) and has sex with pretty much everyone it encounters so as to steal their energy. It eventually kills the entire family of this other beautiful girl who then has to destroy it by having sex with it and forcing it to orgasm before she does.

Most people in the US would probably call this a porn movie, but I don't think that's giving it enough credit because it's really so much more than that. It definitely works as porn thanks to the amazing Shu Qi, who made her debut with this film (and who's possibly the most beautiful person in the world), but at it's heart it's more of comedy that just happens to be about sex. I seriously think most people, even if they weren't interested in the porn aspect, would not be able to resist loving this film because it's just so hilarious and bizarre. It's not for conservatives obviously, but if you like sexual humor this will definitely be one of your all-time favorites. If nothing else, you'll definitely see some stuff you've never seen before!

To summarize, an incredible achievement in guilty-pleasure filmmaking that should not be missed!

When I first went to see Sex and Zen II, I didn't know what to expect, but what I got was a wonderful comedy that I would not be too upset to show to my parents. In other words, not your average blue movie. If you are looking for a fun movie to watch with your friends on Friday night, this is it.

Lucien-3, you mustn't get easily embarrassed in front of your parents if you'd watch this as a family. I'm thinking particularly of the sequences of ejaculation distance contests and the final lesbian orgasm duel. This is a god sequel, though, far more stylish,less camp and garish than the original. And it marks the debut of the stunning Shu Qi, who can be truly sinister amidst her over-acting co-stars, and may turn out to be quite a discovery if the next Hao Hsiao-Hsien film is anything to go by.

Worthy sequel, 30 July 2006

Mirage Lady is using mystical sexual arts to suck the life energy out of women. Sai Moon-Kin, a master of sexual arts, is the most powerful man in his city. Mirage Lady uses Sai Moon-Kin's large collection of women to achieve great power.

I wasn't expecting this film to be very good, but I was pleasantly surprised. I laughed quite often during this. It makes a worthy sequel to the original movie. There's a man who gets a mechanical penis that gives him all sorts of wacky abilitiies. Yiau wears chastity armour that hurts anyone who tries to touch her. Elvis Tsui is hiliarious in this, he makes a very good Old Master.

This is worth seeing if you're a fan of the first movie. Unfortunately, as with all Hong Kong imports, the main problem is product quality. Whether you buy VCD or DVD, the quality is the same. And there's always a chance that it won't play very well. Hopefully someday an American company will buy the rights to these films and re-release them as higher quality DVDs.

not being very familiar with cat 3 films, I had originally expected to dislike this film as the first had been quite corny.

however, I did enjoy this film as although it is a cat 3 film it also had a decent plot line, good costumes and less out of nowhere nudity then the first.

the plot resembles some what of the Butterfly Lovers as Yau (Lee) cross dresses to go to school and makes a friend who I believe by the end she marries. Besides that there is nothing else similar between them.

Shu Qi is stunning as the temptress and Lee is cute and young looking although she is 29 by the time this film was made.

This seems to be the film to promote Shu Qi as she is given much attention to her 'hotness', having many nude scene's. Her voice was dubbed and her acting seemed fake, it may have been apart of the script or just bad acting.

Lee didn't flare much better as she was ill at ease with herself in the film and seemed a bit guarded whenever she had a nudity scene. The rest she was quite convincing as the young cute daughter.

all in all, not the best you can get but a definite try for anyone into the genre.

Wow! The story in this one takes from an erotic angle to one really freaky climax! There are moments of humor provided by the scholar and the father (played by humorous Elvis Tsui). The sex training exercises will have you chuckling. What kooky imagination!!

But who cares about story?? You've got sweet Loletta Lee and Shu Qi's debut movie role! Go see it already!!
