In a new interview with Parade, actress Uma Thurman reveals that making The Avengers — a film she says “really wasn’t good while it was going on” — sparked her desire to become a mom.

“I came home from making that movie and I started rethinking my life,” Uma, 39, explains. “I said to myself, ‘I’m going to have a baby,’ because I felt like I’d gotten to a spot where I wasn’t sure what I was acting for.” She asks,

“Was I running from myself going from location to location? Was I hurting myself? I »

Uma Thurman's Latest Career Moves: Motherhood and a "Film Excellence" Award

5 September 2009 8:59 AM, PDT | Reelzchannel.com | See recent ReelzChannel news »

Variety reports that the Boston Film Festival will award Uma Thurman with a "film excellence" award for her acting career.

Thurman has certainly had an eclectic, up-and-down career. Interestingly enough, she wasn't even on-screen for her debut film role: She lent her voice to the English-language dubbing of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, the 1984 feature from legendary Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki.

Later in the 80s, she also had small roles in The Adventures of Baron Munchausen and Dangerous Liaisons. She was also the title female character in Henry & June, which in 1990 became the first movie to receive an Nc-17 (just after the rating was introduced to replace the X).

But of course, her breakout was as Mia Wallace in Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction, for which she received a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination. Since then, she's taken on a variety of interesting, off-beat roles (Kill Bill, Sweet and Lowdown, »

The Middleman - Complete Series (DVD Review)

24 July 2009 3:22 AM, PDT | Fangoria | See recent Fangoria news »

As TV series have a very short life span these days, such was the case with the shortly ran ABC Family original TV series  The Middleman.  Debuting in June of 2008, the show ran for a mere 12 episodes; not evening filming the final 13th due to low ratings.  Created by Lost writer/producer Javier Grillo-Marxuach, the show sparked with originality and absurdness that science-fiction and horror fans alike felt akin to, but still seeming to warm the most typical of teen angst hearts out there.

With a mixture of Men In Black meets Get Smart fathering a mid 60’s The Avengers feel and mothered to The X-Files, Middleman is a breath of fresh air as each episode is a full-hour-chocked-pack adventure!  In other words, this explosive plot can also be boiled down best, as stated by the Middleman himself, “We're international consultants that solve exotic problems for corporations, individuals, and even governments. »
