Continuity: Shao Kahn removes his cape before the final battle, but it reappears briefly during the fight before disappearing again.
Continuity: After Shao Kahn knocks Raiden off the cliff before the final battle, Jax takes off his jacket, then Kitana slides it under Raiden's head. When the Elder Gods resurrect Raiden, the jacket is gone.
Revealing mistakes: During the fight scene between Sonya and Ermac, when Sonya grabs Ermac's head with her legs, his mask falls off and you can see the actor's face.
Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Jade says "We could never have stopped them alone" to Shao Kahn, her lips do not match the words she speaks.
Revealing mistakes: When Lui Kang hits Baraka into the fire pit, not only is it the footage of Rain (who was knocked in there by Shao Kahn earlier in the movie) but you can also see a hand reach up and grab him.
Continuity: When Lui Kang kicks Smoke into the pit, Sub-Zero isn't seen to the right of Smoke, but as Lui Kang is flying back after kicking Smoke, Sub-Zero appears.
Revealing mistakes: Cables are visible when Subzero and Scorpion are fighting.
Revealing mistakes: During the fight scene with Scorpion fighting Subzero, prior to the event where Scorpion materializes behind Kitana, there is an overview scene of the cavern. If you look behind Kitana, he is already there behind her waiting, but afterwards, it shows him just barely appearing even if he was there to begin with.
Revealing mistakes: During the fight between Sub-Zero and Scorpion, a bridge of ice is knocked a long way down into a lava stream which is heavily obscured by smoke. Later, Sub-Zero is knocked down and the stream is shown to only be a few feet down and isn't obscured at all.
Continuity: In the fight with Sonya and Mileena, the mud on their clothes changes positions and is mostly dry by the end of the fight.
Revealing mistakes: In the fight with Sonya and Mileena, when Mileena kicks Sonya onto the rock, you see Sonya's male stunt double spinning in the air.
Revealing mistakes: When Sonya lands on the rock, after Mileena kicks her during their fight, the stunt double's wig comes partially off.
Continuity: In the scene where Sindel and Kitana are first reunited, Jade's hair is in a long ponytail. In the next part of the scene, when Jade speaks, her hair is in a tight bun.
Revealing mistakes: Visible wires when Sonya and Mileena are fighting in the mud pit.
Revealing mistakes: When Raiden does his famous flying attack (from the original arcade game) you can clearly see his long hair pulled back in a pony tail. However, before and after doing the move, his long hair is down.
Revealing mistakes: Cables are visible during the fight between Liu Kang and the Tarkatan Warriors (Baraka).
Continuity: In the fight between Liu Kang and the Baraka, when Liu and the last enemy are on top of Kitana's cage, the Baraka knocks the sword out of Liu's hands. A few seconds after, in the next frame, the baraka knocks the same sword out of Liu's hands, almost as if it was the same scene, with a different camera angle.
Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): As Jade holds Liu Kang under her spear, as she says "When I alone am too much for you," Liu Kang is seen mouthing her lines.
Revealing mistakes: When Sonya Blade falls on the big rock when she fights Mileena you can see that it moves.
Miscellaneous: Liu Kang kicks Smoke down the ravine because the missile is about to explode. When the missile explode and they switch the scene, Liu Kang is at least 10 meters from the ravine's edge.
Continuity: Right before Rain is killed, Motaro is holding Sheeva far above his head. When the camera angle changes they are almost eye-to-eye.
Revealing mistakes: When Scorpion and Sub-Zero are fighting after the ice breaks, Scorpion's trademark white eyes are not there but replaced by normal looking eyes.
Revealing mistakes: The skeletons on the Golden Gate bridge are obviously made of clay.
Continuity: During the first scene of the movie, Rayden's hair starts out long, then is tied in a pony tail when he's fighting Shao Kahn, then his hair is let down again.
Continuity: On the Golden Gate, three green ninjas are creeping on the wall. After Sindel destroyed by Rayden and he is falling into the wall. However, two green ninjas land. Why has the third ninja disappeared?
Continuity: When Rayden and Shao Kahn are fighting, one of Kahns warriors throws him a rope. When he throws it to him it has a loop in it. However in the next shot there's no loop and he uses it to get Sonya.
Revealing mistakes: Cables are visible when Sub-Zero are flying.
Revealing mistakes: During the fight scene between Sub-Zero and Scorpion, when Scorpion catches Sub-Zero, his mask falls off and you can see the actor's face.
Continuity: When Scorpion and Sub-Zero are about to fight we clearly see Scorpion with white contacts over his eyes, but during the fighting you can see the actor/stuntman playing Scorpion does not have any white contacts in.
Revealing mistakes: When Smoke fires a missile that destroys a large structure in the underground cavern during his fight with Lui, if you look closely, when the explosion occurs, you can actually see additional "phantom" debris exploding upwards (from two independent bursts) from underneath the fog in front of the actual explosion, obviously to make it seem more dramatic. These secondary bursts also noticeably occur several seconds after the initial explosion.
Revealing mistakes: After Rayden has his new identity, he is attacked by the ninjas. During this fight scene you can clearly see Rayden's stunt double instead of the main actor fighting.
Revealing mistakes: When Sonya grabs Cyrax's back and throws him into the wall (towards the end of their fight), you can see his back, supposedly made of metal, bend like rubber.
Crew or equipment visible: When the purple ninja Rain is smacked into the fire pit by Shao Khan, look closely as the body falls into the pit. A stage helper's hand comes up to catch the falling "body".
Revealing mistakes: When Sonya finishes Mileena, Mileena's shoulders are muddy and she is face down, but when we have a close up of the dragon tattoo the right shoulder is cleaned off and what mud is left is dry.
Revealing mistakes: In the mud pit, Jax beats up the demon that comes out of the ground. As said demon retreats into the earth, watch as its right horn simply disappears from the shot halfway down into the ground.
Continuity: In an opening shot taken from the prequel film, Liu Kang is wearing a dirty tank top; presumably only seconds later in the first shot of "Annihilation", he's wearing a clean sleeveless shirt.
Continuity: When Liu Kang is fighting the Barakas on top of the cage, he knocks one of them off and down into the surrounding pit of fire. But when it cuts to a close-up instead of seeing the Baraka falling into the fire, it's the character Rain falling instead. This exact shot is seen earlier in the film when Shao Kahn throws the actual Rain into a pit of fire.
