  • Continuity: David Letterman's CBS set is used when he is supposedly at NBC (because NBC refused permission to use that set).

  • Continuity: Howard's headphones reappear on his head as he tries to restart the turntable after knocking the cartridges onto it.

  • Continuity: The reflection of Howard talking to Kenny on a lamp when no sound is heard.

  • Anachronisms: Phil Rudd was not a member of AC/DC in 1985.

  • Factual errors: 'Howard Stern' did not have long hair when arriving at WNBC, and in fact did not grow it long until approximately the time he was hired by WXRK.

  • Anachronisms: The bass player in AC/DC is playing an Ernie Ball Music Man Sting Ray 20th Anniversary Special Edition Bass. This bass was introduced in the late 1990s though the scene was set in the mid 1980s.

  • Anachronisms: Howard is seen watching "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" in 1982. The show premiered in 1984.

  • Anachronisms: A Discover Card is advertised in a store window during a scene set in the late-'70s/early-'80s. The Discover Card was not introduced until the late-'80s.

  • Anachronisms: During AC/DC's final performance, there is a sign for a "Staples" store in the background. Staples was not a chain store in 1985.

  • Continuity: The police cars in the Washington D.C. scene are 1992 (or later) Ford Crown Victorias, while the setting is 1981 or 1982

  • Continuity: The taxis in NYC scenes are 1987 Chevrolet Caprices. The time setting is 1985.

  • Factual errors: The day Robin was fired from NBC was a warm sunny day, the next day Ross, Robin's replacement announced the anniversary of John Lennon's death. Lennon died on 8 December 1980.

  • Continuity: When Howard arrives at WCCC, he is standing at the studio door as Fred finishes his program. To the left of the door, there is an "on air" light that is initially off, even though Fred is broadcasting. In the next shot, when Howard enters the studio, the "on air" light is on, and is then turned off.

  • Continuity: The position of Moti's newspaper on the desk at Howard's WRNW interview.

  • Factual errors: Howard is attempting to give a woman an orgasm over the phone. He is speaking to her on the phone and at the same time she is listening to the show on the radio. There is a time delay of several seconds before the show is broadcast over the air. Being on the phone and listening at the same time would create feedback and would not allow the conversation to continue as portrayed.

  • Continuity: When Howard and Allison are driving from Detroit to Washington, D.C., Howard gets out of the car to fill the gas tank. The delivery hose on the gasoline dispenser had been modernized with a "Stage II Vapor Recovery" system, which was not introduced until the late-'80s.

  • Continuity: When Howard's chicken is run over, the bucket cap is placed differently when the camera switches.

  • Continuity: When Jenna Jameson/Mandy is handing her panties over to Jackie, he is shown taking them from her hand and putting them on a hanger. In the next shot Jackie picks them up off the table and puts them on the hanger.

  • Anachronisms: As Howard talks to people at a food stand (after Howard signs a woman's chest) a 1996 Dodge Caravan can be seen in the background.

  • Continuity: When Kenny "hits himself" with the phone during the fight scene with Howard, he gets a bloody nose. When the camera cuts and shows him yelling at Howard, the blood disappears.

  • Anachronisms: At the AC/DC concert, not only was Phil Rudd not a member of the band, he can be seen playing using Ahead brand aluminum drumsticks. These sticks were not introduced until the mid-1990's.

  • Anachronisms: When Howard is taking Brittany Fairchild to the movie premiere in 1979 you can see a poster for Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) at the theater, which was not released until 1981.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Howard and Allison pull into the gas station and he discusses the fact that he often holds back what he is really thinking while on the air, you can clearly see the cars rear view mirror folded upwards and out of the way in order to avoid blocking the faces during the conversation.

  • Anachronisms: There is an AC/DC album, "Powerage", poster in a studio that is set before the actual album was released. "Powerage" was released in (1978).
