Sex & Nudity

Rachel Weisz's black dress becomes see-through at times, especially when light flashes on it.

Some light kissing.

Anck Su Namun, at the beginning of the movie, is shown in several scenes wearing nothing but body paint.

This is considered to be a GOOF since it's unintentional; During the scene when the scarab is crawling inside the Warden's body (when he goes berserk). You very BRIEFLY see his penis pop out and in of a hole in his points a FEW times. This whole incident happens in one second.

Violence & Gore

Violence throughout. The various mummies, crazy-men, and zombie-like beings in this movie are shot, stabbed, blown apart, and set on fire, but no blood is present.

A mummy is seen after the first 25 minutes of the movie. He is shown dead and still looks dead as he goes around using people's flesh to bring him back to life. Kind of like an old classic horror movie. (only much more gruesome)

A man is shown with his eyes and his tongue cut out. (no blood.)

The same man who had his eyes and tongue cut out later is shown without his flesh. Still, believe it or not, there is no blood.

The same thing that happends with three other men. (no blood.)

Imhotep's arm is chopped off, and he then puts it back. (no blood, but slightly graphic)

Profanity

Some mild language.

The explorers drink and some smoke.

The explorers are hunted by a 3,000 year old mummy that has come back from the dead. Men are mummified alive at the beginning of the movie.

One very frightening scene is when a man is walking through an alley (in the dark), and he hears noises (by Imhotep). After that, we see Imhotep right behind him with a scary, scarred faced.

Another one is when Benny (all alone) hears strange baby-like voices. Suddenly, Imhotep (skeleton-looking) appears right in front of him.

One man has scarabs that crawl into his skin and around his body.

The mummy may frighten some.

A man has his eyes ripped out. Nothing bloody is seen, but his empty, gruesome eye-sockets are shown. Later, he is taken into a room and the mummy mummifies him. His screams and yells in pain can be heard. Nothing bloody or graphic is shown.

In the director's commentary, director Stephen Sommers mentions that a lot of editing had to be done to keep the PG-13 rating.
