Actress Denise Richards and rocker Richie Sambora have split after a year-long romance. The Wild Things beauty, 36, and Bon Jovi guitarist, 47, started dating in April 2006, just months after filing for divorce from their respective spouses, Charlie Sheen and Heather Locklear. At the time, the romance caused huge controversy because Richards had been close friends with Locklear. The former Bond girl insisted her friendship with the Melrose Place actress had ended before she starting dating Sambora. However, Richards' representative confirmed to magazine In Touch yesterday that the couple had split some time ago. The rep says, "Denise and Richie broke up two months ago." Despite their split, Richards attended the funeral of Sambora's father Adam, who died on April 20, following a long battle with lung cancer. Sambora's divorce from Locklear was finalized last month. »

Former Bond girl Denise Richards insists she'll never discuss what drove a wedge between her and former pal Heather Locklear because she doesn't want the actresses' children reading about it. The Wild Things star insists her friendship with Locklear was over long before she started romancing the Melrose Place star's estranged husband, Richie Sambora, and she resents remarks she was a home-wrecker. Writing a column in the new issue of Glamour magazine, Richards insists she knew Locklear and Sambora had split long before she started dating the rocker, and she would have ended any romance if she felt there was still a remote chance the couple would get back together. She writes, "I knew Richie had come into my life for a reason and, at that point, my friendship with Heather had been over for a while. I don't want to go into the details of what caused our rift. Heather and Richie have a nine-year-old daughter and I don't want her to read these personal things in the press. I will say this: 'I did not have an affair with Richie during his marriage...' and there are two sides to every story." »

Celebrity pals Denise Richards and Pamela Anderson have been named in a lawsuit filed by two photographers, who claim the actresses verbally and physically abused them. In a lawsuit, filed on Friday in Los Angeles, snappers Scott Cosman and Rik Fedyck allege Richards raged when she spotted the photographers taking snapshots of her on the set of upcoming movie Blonde & Blonder last year. According to the lawsuit, which was obtained by Tmz.com, Wild Things star Richards spent 20 minutes hurling abuse at the two men and physically assaulted them at the River Rock Casino Resort in Vancouver, Canada. The plaintiffs claim Richards then "snatched their laptop computers from their hands, and threw them over the (hotel) balcony," adding one of the computers allegedly struck "an elderly woman in a wheelchair." Canadian police investigated the incident and decided it "wasn't in the best public interest to bring criminal charges" against the actress. In the lawsuit, Cosman and Fedyck claim Richards and Anderson, her Blonde & Blonder co-star, then falsely told the Royal Canadian Mounted Police that the photographers "had engaged in criminal activity." As a result, they were arrested and held by authorities for "approximately three days." The paparazzi pair is suing both women for assault, battery, defamation, false arrest and a slew of other charges. »
