Whereas most animated shows take six months on average to animate each episode, an episode of South Park can be animated within days.

This is due to a mixture of South Park's simplistic animation and the fact that it is drawn and animated with computerized vector animation tools Maya and CorelDRAW. These two things put together allow it to be animated incredibly quickly and so episodes often have changes hours before airing. Using that software on South Park is quicker than other shows because the video can be rendered faster and full 3D video is not required for South Park's 2D style.

Season 13 will continue with episode 13.08 and will be aired October 7. It is aired on Wednesday nights on Comedy Central. The show is contracted for a further two seasons after this with season 15 expected to air in 2011.

The 12th season ("South Park: Tonsil Trouble (#12.1)" - "South Park: The Ungroundable (#12.14)") of "South Park" has already been released on March 10, 2009 on DVD and for the first time on Blu-Ray Disc.

In film school, where Matt Stone and Trey Parker met, for their final project, they made a short film called "The Spirit of Christmas," (also known as "Jesus vs. Frosty") where the story was about a magical hat that causes a snowman to morph into a serial killer. Prototypes of the four main boys in today's "South Park" are evident, although voices and names are different than today.

Later, a TV executive commissioned the pair to make a video Christmas card, called "The Spirit of Christmas" (also know as "Jesus vs. Santa") where Jesus and Santa have a "Mortal Kombat" type battle to decide the true meaning of Christmas. Thanks to timely advice from Brian Boitano, the boys stop the two from fighting and save the day. The original video in its entirety can be seen either on the Internet or spliced into the episode "South Park: A Very Crappy Christmas (#4.17)".

When Comedy Central got the video, they asked the creators to do their own show on the network. The original pilot episode is "South Park: Cartman Gets an Anal Probe (#1.1)".

"'South Park' Republican" is a term generally used for individuals who subscribe to the rough set of beliefs and values laid out through the seasons of "South Park." Principally, a "'South Park' Republican" is fiscally conservative, socially liberal, and displays strong Libertarian bents (the show's creators are self-described Libertarians). Major tenets of belief include an emphasis on personal responsibility ("South Park: Butt Out (#7.13)"), general disdain or apathy toward religion ("South Park: Cartman Sucks (#11.2)," et al.), dislike of environmental regulation and paranoia ("South Park: Smug Alert! (#10.2)"), and hatred of effete, Hollywood morals ("South Park: Chef's Salty Chocolate Balls (#2.9)"). The show generally rejects the extremist positions of both right and left, often settling on a moderate stance.

The group that plays/sings the original theme song is Primus. The "4th Grade" episodes (which started with the episode "South Park: 4th Grade (#4.11)" and ended with the episode "South Park: Kenny Dies (#5.13)") with the first altered opener was a remix of that song performed by Paul Robb. After that, the theme was replaced by another version of the song, this time performed by Les Claypool's Frog Brigade. Currently, the theme song is a remix of that.

Les: Goin' down to South Park gonna have myself a time

Stan and Kyle: Friendly faces everywhere, humble folks without temptation

Les: Goin' down to South Park gonna leave my woes behind

Cartman: Ample parking day or night, people spouting "howdy neighbor!"

Les: Headin' on up to South Park gonna see if I can't unwind

Kenny: I like girls with big fat titties, I like girls with deep vaginas."

Les: Come on down to South Park and meet some friends of mine.

In seasons one and two it's generally agreed that Kenny says: "I like girls with big fat titties, I like girls with deep vaginas."

From season three it was changed to "I have got a ten inch penis, use your mouth if you want to clean it."

Then Starting in season six, this part was changed to Timmy saying : "Timmay, Timmay, Timmay, Timmay, Timmay, Timmay living a lie*, Timmay!" *Evidence from "South Park: Cripple Fight (#5.2)"

Currently, it has returned to the season three Kenny line.

Somewhere in one of the later seasons, Kenny's line was changed again, presumably to "Someday I'll Be Old Enough To Stick My Dick In Britney's (Britney Spears) Butt"

A town just called South Park in Colorado is fictional. The town in the show is located in a geographical area known as the "South Park Basin" in Park County, Colorado. Both the basin and the county are real. Fairplay is a town mentioned occasionally in the show that is also located in both Park County and the South Park Basin, about 80 miles southwest of Denver. "South Park City" is a real area located within the town of Fairplay . More information about this location is available by clicking on the following link: http://www.southparkcity.org/.

There is such a county in Colorado, United States with the name Park, which is located in the geographic center of Colorado, United States, surrounded by the following counties: Clear Creek (north), Jefferson (northeast), Teller (east), Fremont (southeast), Chaffee (southwest), Lake (west) and Summit (northwest). A map of the county with the adjacent counties can be seen by clicking on the following link: http://county-map.digital-topo-maps.com/colorado.shtml. Information about the county can be found by clicking on the following link: http://www.parkco.us/.

According to "South Park: Terrance & Phillip: Behind the Blow (#5.5)," Terrance's full name is Terrance Henry Stoot and Phillip's full name is Phillip Niles Argile.

The episode that show the show "Terrance and Phillip" the first time is "South Park: Death (#1.6)."

According to "South Park: My Future Self n' Me (#6.16)," Sharon Marsh's maiden name is Kimbal.

According to "South Park: Casa Bonita (#7.11)," "South Park: You Got F'd in the A (#8.4)," and "South Park: Marjorine (#9.9)," Butters Stotch's real name is Leopold Stotch.

According to "South Park: Cartman's Incredible Gift (#8.13)," Ms. Crabtree's full name is Veronica Crabtree.

Eric Cartman's middle name is Theodore.

According to "South Park: Clubhouses (#2.12)," Stan Marsh's stepdad's name is Roy. No one knows what his last name is as it was not revealed.

What is Chef's real name?

According to "South Park: Chef Aid (#2.14)," Chef's real name is Jerome McElroy.

According to "South Park: Spooky Fish (#2.15)," Stan Marsh's mom's sister's (or aunt's) name is Flora (or Flo). No one really knows what her last name is because her last name has not been revealed.

According to "South Park: Trapper Keeper (#4.12)." Ike Broflovski (Kyle Broflovski's adopted brother) is three years old.

Mr. Mackey's head is so big because his tie is too tight. In "South Park: Ike's Wee Wee (#2.4)," Mr. Mackey gets high and takes off his tie and his head immediately shrinks.

Note: This is disproved in "South Park: Proper Condom Use (#5.7)" where Mr. Mackey takes off his clothes to have sex with Ms. Choksondik. He removes all of his clothing (including his tie), but his head does not shrink (which may be a "movie mistake" or because of the drugs he was taking deflated his brain) .

Numerous characters have either altogether disappeared or been mostly retired from the show. This is presumably due to the fact that Trey Parker and Matt Stone have changed the tone of the show over time. Some characters who have disappeared include:

Chef (died in "South Park: The Return of Chef (#10.1)" and hasn't been seen since; Isaac Hayes left the show in early 2006. Hayes died on August 10, 2008, ending any further possibility of Chef returning to the show.

Miss Ellen (murdered by arabs, with the help of Wendy Testaburger, in "South Park: Tom's Rhinoplasty (#1.11)")

Miss Stevenson (died in "South Park: Miss Teacher Bangs a Boy (#10.10)" after jumping off the roof of the Airport Hilton Hotel)

Mr. Hanky the Christmas Poo (has not appeared since "South Park: Red Sleigh Down (#6.17)")

Mr. Hat (permanently abandoned in "South Park: The Death Camp of Tolerance (#6.14)" and has not been seen since. However, he was shown briefly in a flashback in "South Park: Pre-School (#8.10)")

Mr. and Mrs. Tenorman (killed in "South Park: Scott Tenorman Must Die (#5.4)")

Mr. Twig (thrown away by Mr. Garrison in "South Park: Chef Aid (#2.14)" to be with Mr. Hat again and has not been seen since)

Mrs. Stevens (hasn't been seen since "South Park: Rainforest, Schmainforest (#3.1)")

Ms. Choksondik (died in "South Park: The Simpsons Already Did It (#6.7)")

Ms. Crabtree (killed in "South Park: Cartman's Incredible Gift (#8.13)")

Phillip "Pip" Pirrup (still appears but remains silent)

Numerous newer characters have been added over the years to take the place of many of these original characters. Many original characters who were barely in the show at all in its beginning (such as Stan Marsh's dad Randy Marsh) now appear more often.

Some characters had either their name changed and/or their appearance changed. This is presumably due to the fact that Trey Parker and Matt Stone have changed the tone of the show over time. Some characters who had either their name changed and/or their appearance changed include:

Bebe Stevens (wanted her breasts to be one-two sizes smaller in "South Park: Bebe's Boobs Destroy Society (#6.10)" so that the boys in the fourth grade at South Park Elementary School would not be paying attention to her but the plastic surgeon would not do that and instead was willing to have her breasts one-two sizes larger but she woud not do that)

Eric Cartman (changed his name to Eric Cartmmenez (Mr. Cartmenez) in "South Park: Eek, a Penis! (#12.5)" so that the inner city kids at Jim Davis high school won't hurt him)

Gerald Broflovski (had plastic surgery to become a dolphin because his favorite animal is the dolphin in "South Park: Mr. Garrison's Fancy New Vagina (#9.1)," but later in same episode, got changed back)

Kenny McCormick (gets turned into a zombie by having worcestershire sauce poured into him in place of blood and embalming fluid in "South Park: Pink Eye (#1.7)," and gets turned into a duckbilled platpus by Satin's son Damien in "South Park: Damien (#1.10)." )

Kyle Broflovski (had plastic surgery to become a tall black guy in order to try out for a basketball team in "South Park: Mr. Garrison's Fancy New Vagina (#9.1),"but later in same episode, got changed back and disguised himself as Britney Spears to trick the paparazzi into thinking that he is Britany Spears so that Stan Marsh and Brittany Spears can sneak onto the passanger train to the North Pole in "South Park: Britney's New Look (#12.2)")

Leopold "Butters" Stotch (was seen as a silent character throughout the first two seasons, and was identified as 'Swanson' by Chef in "South Park: Conjoined Fetus Lady (#2.5)". He became a speaking character in "South Park: Two Guys Naked in a Hot Tub (#3.8)" and was finally identified as 'Butters'. His role in the series became much more prominent from season six onward. Butters could be heard making a groaning sound in "South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut" as he falls down after the "La Resistance" song, but his voice sounded different then.)

Mr. Garrison (had his nose altered via rhinoplasty in "South Park: Tom's Rhinoplasty (#1.11)" but had the surgery reversed in same episode and changed from a man to a women by having his penis changed into a vagina via plastic surgery and had his name changed to Mrs. Garrison (even though he is not married) in "South Park: Mr. Garrison's Fancy New Vagina (#9.1)" (In "South Park: Go God Go (#10.12)," he is referred to as Miss Garrison). In "South Park: Eek, a Penis! (#12.5)," he is changed back into a man after being changed from a man to a woman by having his vagina changed into a penis via plastic surgery and had is name changed back from Mrs. Garrison to Mr. Garrison.)

Wendy Testaburger (had breast implants done in "South Park: Bebe's Boobs Destroy Society (#6.10)" but is not seen with breast implants in any other episode)

The voice actress playing these characters, Mary Kay Bergman, committed suicide in 1999, and was not replaced until sometime later either in season three or season four by Eliza Schneider. To read more about Mary Kay Bergman, go to http://www.wackyvoices.com/.

Three of the four main characters have always been Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, and (with one exception) Eric Cartman. The fourth friend was, starting from the beginning of the series: - Kenny McCormick, starting with the episode "South Park: Cartman Gets an Anal Probe (#1.1)" and ending with the episode "South Park: Kenny Dies (#5.13)" (except for episodes where none or not all four of the boys were present: "South Park: Terrance & Phillip in Not Without My Anus (#2.1)," "South Park: Cat Orgy (#3.7)," "South Park: Two Guys Naked in a Hot Tub (#3.8)," "South Park: Pip (#4.14)," and "South Park: Fat Camp (#4.15)") - Butters Stotch, starting with the episode "South Park: Jared Has Aides (#6.1)" and ending with the episode "South Park: Professor Chaos (#6.6)," - Tweek Tweek, starting with the episode "South Park: Professor Chaos (#6.6)" and ending with the episode "South Park: Bebe's Boobs Destroy Society (#6.10)" - For the episode "South Park: Bebe's Boobs Destroy Society (#6.10)", the four main characters were Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovaski, Tweek Tweek and Bebe Stevens. - Eric Cartman and Tweek Tweek returned with Stan Marsh and Kyle Broflovski for the episode "South Park: Child Abduction Is Not Funny (#6.11)" - Kenny McCormick returned as a soul trapped inside Eric Cartman's body in the episode "South Park: A Ladder to Heaven (#6.12)", and remained that way though the episode "South Park: Red Sleigh Down (#6.17)". He reappered physically in the episode "South Park: Red Sleigh Down (#6.17)" (except for episodes where none or not all four of the boys were present: "South Park: Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset (#8.12)," "South Park: Erection Day (#9.7)," "South Park: Two Days Before the Day After Tomorrow (#9.8)," "South Park: Trapped in the Closet (#9.12)," "South Park: Smug Alert! (#10.2)," "South Park: Cartoon Wars: Part 1 (#10.3)," "South Park: Cartoon Wars: Part 2 (#10.4)," "South Park: A Million Little Fibers (#10.5)," "South Park: Hell on Earth 2006 (#10.11)," "South Park: Go God Go (#10.12), "South Park: Go God Go XII (#10.13)," "South Park: Fantastic Easter Special (#11.5)," "South Park: More Crap (#11.9)," "South Park: Imaginationland: Episode II (#11.11)," "South Park: Imaginationland: Episode III (#11.12)," and "South Park: Canada on Strike (#12.4)") to once again join the original line-up with Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, and Eric Cartman.

Eric Cartman is an only child.

Kenny McCormick has a brother named Kevin McCormick, a brother name Kenny McCormick and a sister who's name has not been revealed (Kevin McCormick first appeared in "South Park: Chickenpox (#2.10)" and is seen sitting at the dinner table eating a waffle, Kenny McCormick first appeared in "South Park: Cartman Joins NAMBLA (#4.5)" and is seen being born in the hospital and it is not known in which episode the sister first appeared in).

Kyle Broflovski has an adopted brother named Ike Broflovski (first appeared in "South Park: Cartman Gets an Anal Probe (#1.1)" trying to follow Kyle Broflovski to school).

Stan Marsh has a sister named Shelley Marsh (first appeared in "South Park: An Elephant Makes Love to a Pig (#1.5)" and is seen beating up Stan Marsh in the family house).

From time to time Kenny McCormick is killed, but currently, he will generally survive an episode unharmed. Trey Parker and Matt Stone decided that they were growing tired of the "Oh-My-God, you killed Kenny!" gag and killed him for real in "South Park: Kenny Dies (#5.13)". He later returned in "South Park: Red Sleigh Down (#6.17)" and from then on his death-count has been very low.

Kenny usually dies in a fairly graphic way, which is also often very ironic and/or funny. This often includes being a victim of man-slaughter, or falling on a knife or flag pole.

To find out how he dies in each episode that he dies in, go to the episode list, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0121955/episodes, and click on the title of the episode, then go to the episode's FAQ. The FAQ should tell you how he dies in that episode.

Kenny McCormick appears either without his orange parka on or with just his head without the orange parka on in "South Park: The Tooth Fairy's Tats 2000 (#4.1)," "South Park: Super Best Friends (#5.3)," "South Park: The Jeffersons (#8.6)," "South Park: Lil' Crime Stoppers (#7.6)," "South Park: The Losing Edge (#9.5)," and "South Park: Lice Capades (#11.3)." He also appeared either without his orange parka on or with just his head without the orange parka on in the movie "South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut."

In South Park: South Park Is Gay (#7.8) Kenny wears two different parkas, but instead of orange, his first parka is purple and his second parka is pink.

Kenny McCormick comes back to life for good in "South Park: Red Sleigh Down (#6.17)." The creaters, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, brought him back for, as of yet, undisclosed reasons. What was Kenny McCormick's explaination for where he was all season? "I was just over there!"

The episode that the television show "Jesus and Pals" is first mentioned is through a commercial in "South Park: Weight Gain 4000 (#1.2)." The first time an episode of the television show "Jesus and Pals" is shown is in "South Park: Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boat Ride (#1.4)"

For several years now, South Park has done fourteen shows per year. They air seven episodes in the Spring, typically starting in March and ending in late April, and seven episodes starting in October and ending in late November. The season actually begins in March and the October run is considered a continuation of that season.

Eric Cartman's real father is actually his mother. Ms. Cartman is really a hermaphrodite, meaning she has both male and female sex organs. However, Cartman's real mother is never revealed.

Without his hat, we can see Kyle is a red-head.

Without his parka, we can see that Kenny has blonde hair.

When without his hat on, it shows that Eric Cartman has brown hair.

Who is "Towelie?"

Towelie is an engineered piece of work made by a secret organization to give the user the perfect amount of dryness. However, one day, Towelie got high and escaped. He now roams freely reminding people to always bring a towel whenever they say something about water or wetness.

It is shaped like that because Ike is an adopted Canadian, and all Canadians and some other foreign people have heads shaped like so.

He gets them at Armani Exchange since his family is revealed as rich.

He stays there so he doesnt dry-out from the sun outside.

While as Mr. Garison, his name is Herbert, but as Mrs. Garison, her name is Janet.

The numbers are as follows: 55754-45085.

The character was Tweek Tweak.

Matt Stone does this by talking into his arm sleeve.

Yes, General Disaray and in one episode has two hamsters, but their names are unknown.

Eric's mom's name is Liane Marie.

Eric's cat's name is jokingly named "Mr. Kitty."
