Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

There is a very light reference to incest. And abortion is talked about throughout. (one of the characters is a doctor who performs abortions) There is one scene of sexual content which takes place out doors, you don't see much but it is very obvious that some sort of intercourse is going on. the nudity. There is a scene of none sexual nudity where a woman lays on a bed, she's laying face down and a blanket covers her from the waist up. Also in another scene a man hops out of the shower and you see his bare buttocks.

Violence & Gore

A minor scuffle between two men at the cider house occurs; involves a knife.

Profanity

Nothing at all worth mentioning.

There are various smoking scenes at the cider house. There are several scenes in which Dr Larch abuses the ether. There is also a scene of medical overdose by the ether.

The reference to incest as well as abortions might cause young children to ask questions.
