When most films today just give you happy endings, Russell Mulcahy comes through like a champion with "creepy" special effects for the mummy and a very different ending. Not super good acting, but it puts a different spin on the Mummy story. Also paying homage to a horror legend by putting Christopher Lee in the movie is a big plus.
