You'll be sorry., 13 December 1998
Author: himikey from Illinois
Please don't watch this movie. It's not even an "interesting" horrible, like Troma's other works ("Killer Tomatoes" and "Toxic Avenger"). It's just horrible. Even fans of the "actress" Carmen Electra won't be amused with the amazingly unconvincing "stunt" doubles.

What the f*ck?, 28 July 2000
Author: Elwood_Blues from Bonn, Germany
What the f*ck? That was my exact thought when this 'movie' ended. Who wrote this crap? The acting level is even lower than in a porn film. The only person who seemed to act at least a little (!) bit was Debra Xavier as the bitch Nora. The rest is ... undescribable. Oh, and the guy(s) who did the sound effects should change their profession ASAP!!!
If you're a fan of Carmen then get a Playboy or whatsoever but don't watch this film!
It's a shame that it's not possible to vote 0/10...

Choose Something Else, 11 September 1999
Author: Zanatos from Peoria, Illinois USA
I really can't believe this one. This made me want to shove my head in the nearest toilet and drown myself. I didn't, because then I knew I would die in the same place this movie belongs! When I saw this was a Troma picture, I should have stopped the tape right there. But, alas, I pressed on, and lost 100 minutes of my life that could have been used to do something better, and anything would have been better, trust me.
The one or two people who have read any of my previous reviews would know that I usually take a moment to describe a plot at this time, but "The Chosen One" has a plot which is beyond description. Actually, I think the film-makers made things up as they went along. Nothing made sense! Of course, that went well with the worst actors and actresses you'll ever see! What disturbs me most is that someone actually got paid to make this mess. The producers probably flew over the cuckoo's nest, because this bird-brained "Raven" should be locked in an atrium forever. Zanatos's score: 1/10...but I would rate it lower if I could. Ugh.

No., 30 May 2003
Author: Son_of_Mansfield from Mansfield, Pennsylvania.
*** This review may contain spoilers ***
This is the fascinating tale of a superhero (Shauna Sand) who is killed, leaving her sister (Carmen Electra) to take up her mantle. Even if you have toxic blood flowing through your veins this movie will only give enjoyment on a why did they make this level. You can laugh at the horrific acting of Shauna Sand, although her running is first rate, you can wonder why a certain former playboy playmate (Carmen Electra) did not even do her own nude scenes, or you can simply enjoy the milk and cookies scene for the fine piece of oak inducing entertainment that it is. If you are looking for a more enjoyable Carmen Electra movie, try "The Mating Habits of The Earthbound Human." If you enjoy crap, by all means, bathe yourself in this turd.

Honestly, the worst movie I've ever seen., 14 July 1999
Author: Theresa Blackburn (theresa_@hotmail.com) from Irving, TX
I can't say that I liked this movie, I didn't even understand it! It was the worst movie I've ever seen. Besides the obvious lack of thought in casting (the sister, supposedly a Native American, is a blond-haired, blue-eyed chick), severe lack of acting ability, and the schroom-induced thing that was supposed to be a plot, the thing still didn't muster enough camp to be even funny. Oh, can't finish without mentioning the costumes, what was that about? It looked like they raided a closet full of '80's clothes that people in the '80's wouldn't even wear. Even if you are IN LOVE with Carmen, it won't make you like this.
Trades mainly on the sexual attraction, 12 September 2009

Author: oscar-35 from Movieland
*** This review may contain spoilers ***
*Spoiler/plot- 1998, The Chosen One- Legend of Raven, An native American shaman woman is killed and her sister is unwilling to take up her sister's tribal position as a protector-priestess. She reluctantly accepts the spirit job. SHe eventually has to fight her boyfriend's over bearing ex-girlfriend that is possessed by an opposing demonic Indian spirit.
*Special Stars- Carmen Electra stars as lead role, Raven.
*Theme- The natural force of good will always conquer evil demons.
*Based on- Native American legends.
*Trivia/location/goofs- A semi-nude scene of Electra drenched in milk is something to view. This is a TROMA film. It has plenty of sex and guts, but not necessary the best story or acting on celluloid. Some female nudity.
*Emotion- A superficial script that trades mainly on the sexual attraction of the lovely Ms. Electra. Her acting is mostly unwatchable, due to the viewer expecting her to laugh out loud after delivering her asinine dialog badly. But the many semi-nude scenes of her possessed by her good Indian spirit during combat and sex is engrossing to any male viewer.

How many country hicks did "The Crow" have?, 5 January 2006
Author: gridoon
Great DVD cover marketing here, guys! Raven=Crow, therefore this is the successor to Brandon Lee's "The Crow"! Em, no. Actually, reading the plot synopsis and looking at the photos I expected something along the lines of "Barb Wire", but no, it's not that either. The story is silly and pretentious (shut your mouth, wise old Indian narrator!), and the action scenes (the whole two of them) are poor, with mistimed sound effects. Carmen Electra is a hot woman, no doubt about that, but it's painful to watch her trying to act, though not as painful as it is to watch her male co-stars! (and yes, anyone with an IQ higher than that of the characters can see that she used a body double for the nude scenes). At least Debra Xavier has some fun with her role as the wicked bad girl. At one point, Carmen's boyfriend tells her "I can help you" and she responds "You ain't tough enough, baby". THAT'S the attitude this film needed to have all the way. (*)

Makes a good drink coaster., 29 October 2001
Author: Ragnark from Melbourne, Australia
What was I thinking when I rented this dvd? God only knows. This has to be one of the worst movies I've seen in absolute ages. The acting, what there of it, was terrible. So what if you get to see some naked flesh, it doesn't make up for the movie. Go out and rent a playboy tape, you'd get better acting than here.

Very disappointing, 13 May 2004
Author: headhunter46 from Madison, Wisconsin, USA
This film was lame. I didn't visit IMDB for reviews, I just rented it to see Carmen and Shauna. They are both very lovely ladies but they could not save this film by themselves. The acting was worse than what I saw in a high school play. The plot didn't seem to have any guidance. The only thing this has going for it is the gorgeous ladies. There was some feeble attempt to make this seem like a movie about a Native American legend. Sorry folks, it doesn't wash. Carmen Electra does not appear to be even slightly Native American. The goofy, dumb redneck types are slightly believable, and in a sad way almost humorous. I am sure there are better ways to spend your time than to watch this one unless you are absolutely smitten by Carmen or Shauna Sand or Debra Xavier. I rate this as 1/10

Not only is it bad, but there's precious little skin., 2 February 2001
Author: angusparvo (angusparvo@yahoo.com) from Knoxville, TN
Oh what a waste of tape. The movie was supremely wretched, yet not bad in a way that is funny. The only redeeming feature for pieces of dreck such as this is that usually they feature lots of hard, naked bodies. But no such luck here. You'll get almost as much skin watching an episode of "Days of Our Lives," plus the soap offers much better writing, acting and direction. Unless you really enjoy watching a fully-clothed Carmen Electra being chased through the woods by redneck drunks, skip this thing.
