Dinner for Schmucks
Opens: July 23rd 2010
Cast: Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Zach Galifianakis, Bruce Greenwood, David Walliams
Director: Jay Roach
Summary: A renowned publisher encourages his friends to invite the most pathetic guests possible for their weekly dinner party. Just as they find the most pathetic man yet, the host is injured and ends up trapped with the man all night long.
Analysis: A remake of director Francis Veber's 1998 César award-winning "Le Diner des cons", 'Schmucks' is one of the highest profile comedies of next year with one of the strongest casts for the genre in recent memory. It also marks the return of "Austin Powers" and "Meet the Parents" helmer Jay Roach who has produced several films in recent years but hasn't directed since 2004's "Meet the Fockers".
The question now lies not in the performers or director but the material itself and whether a Gallic comedy can

Rock Band Metal Track Pack (Musick Game Review)

When the music game craze started taking hold a few years back, I was tough to sell on it. As a guitarist since '92, I wasn't very keen on a new generation thinking of plastic guitars instead of real instruments. Yes, I was one of those people that called "for shame!" on Guitar Hero, and turned a blind eye to the series.
Then Rock Band came along, and by some fluke my wife and I attended a party where the game was present, just a week after it's release. A few hours later, I was obsessed with playing drums on Rb, and my outlook began to quickly change.
That Christmas I received the full-blown Rock Band set and a year later I found myself purchasing Rock Band 2. Hundreds of dollars in Dlc later, I'm still banging the plastic drums, and always craving new tunes.
So last week when Harmonix asked

Exclusive: Talking Music & Horror with Keith Buckley of Every Time I Die

As Keith Buckley sees it, Every Time I Die’s new album, New Junk Aesthetic (preview it below), is “kind of, dealing with the fact that there is so much art out there, that you have no idea what’s worth looking at and what isn’t.” If you haven’t figured it out by now, however, Every Time I Die is a band whole heartedly worth paying attention to.
The five-piece from Buffalo, New York are nothing short of a force to reckon with. The band—comprised of guitarists Jordan Buckley and Andrew Williams, bassist Josh Newton and freshly added drummer Ryan Leger—is well versed in the art of creating skillful, creative and exciting metal in a scene overrun with dull imitators. Buckley not only provides some of the most recognizable vocals in the genre, but arguably its smartest lyrics, with his heavily satirical and witty observations. What

Shane Carwin Will Beat Brock Lesnar (If He Changes His Entrance Music)

Over the weekend at Ufc 100, former professional wrestler Brock Lesnar established himself as the most dominant heavyweight Mma fighter in the world, delivering a pounding to top contender Frank Mir. Lesnar has only had five fights in his career, but he's a freak who seemingly can't be beaten.
Enter Shane Carwin, a man nicknamed "The Colossus From Colorado" who will become the next in line to fight Lesnar should he beat Cain Velasquez in October. Carwin is also a beast who may have faster hands and a better reach than Lesnar. But he has one thing working against him: His music.
Brock Lesnar made his Ufc debut using Mötley Crüe's "Shout at the Devil" but has since adopted Metallica's "Enter Sandman." It's a little cliché, sure, but it's also exceptionally badass (especially in a sport where "putting people to sleep" is the main goal). On the other hand, Carwin

[Our thanks to Katarina Gligorijevic for the following review of the latest from Gaspar Noe.]
Gaspar Noé won the Palme D’Or of my heart with this 160+ minute mind-bender. Enter the Void is more of an experimental, avant-garde journey through a DayGlo heart of darkness than it is a traditional narrative. After the punishing violence of both Seul Contre Tous and Irréversible, Noé switches gears completely and attempts to intimately capture the internal, hallucinatory experience of a young man’s death.

French filmmaker Gaspar Noé may only have made two films so far, but anyone who has seen either of them know that he's quite a profound director. Both I Stand Alone and Irréversible premiered at Cannes in 1998 and 2002, respectively, and it was just announced yesterday that Gaspar Noe's latest film titled Enter the Void will be premiering at this year's Cannes Film Festival as well. These photos primarily come from the official website that recently launched - SoudainleVide.com. A few of them are quite trippy, but that's because part of the film is a hallucination, and that's just the beginning. Read on to see the photos.
For those wondering what this is about, I've provided a synopsis beneath the photos that I created by combining a translation of the synopsis on the website and another translated explanation of the plot.
