You know who we don’t really see enough of? Guy Pearce.
The Guy is proven talent, from Ravenous to Memento to The Hurt Locker, but for some reason has never really been given his chance to shine as a leading man in the public eye since the lackluster Time Machine remake.
The good news is that we’ll be seeing him again very soon, in Roger Donaldson’s The Hungry Rabbit Jumps. You may remember Donaldson from The Bank Job and The World’s Fastest Indian. Pearce is joining the film alongside Nicolas Cage and Mad Men’s January Jones, while no other casting details have been revealed.
The film, which will center around “a man (presumably Cage) who becomes entangled with an underground vigilante organization after his wife (Jones) is the victim of a brutal crime” has been scripted by unproven screenwriter Robert Tannen. It sounds remarkably similar

Hot off the presses, we've got a huge load of casting news for you! First up, January Jones (of AMC's "Mad Men") is two-for-two as in this update THR reports that the beautiful actress has nabbed the lead female role opposite Nicolas Cage in the Roger Donaldson (The Bank Job) directed action-thriller The Hungry Rabbit Jumps. The film tells the story of "a man who, after a crime is perpetrated on his wife (Jones), gets more than he bargained for when he enlists a vigilante group to help him settle the score." Tobey Maguire's Maguire Entertainment, James Stern, and Ram Bergman are planning to begin shooting in early December.
Second, THR announced a trio of cast members who are joining Charles de Lauzirika (who produced the new Blade Runner box set) for his directorial debut with the indie thriller Crave.Josh Lawson ($quid: The Movie), Emma Lung (The Boys Are Back

Just last week January Jones revealed that, while they were dating, Ashton Kutcher told her he didn’t think she’d be any good at the acting biz, and that she should call it quits.
Well, Jones certainly wasn’t deterred by the lack of support from Kutcher. Already having cemented her place as a TV starlet with her role on Mad Men, Jones is ready to take on the big screen.
Before making a name for herself with Mad Men, Jones had supporting roles in numerous movies including Love Actually, American Wedding, and Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights. Jones has moved past being a supporting actress, signing on for starring roles in two films in the past week.
Last week Jones signed on for Dark Castle’s Unknown White Male with Liam Neeson and Diane Kruger, and it has now been revealed that she will also be starring with Nicolas Cage in Hungry Rabbit Jumps,

January Jones is hot. I mean she’s a popular actress getting many opportunities to continue working … and she’s hot.
The “Mad Men” star has signed on to star opposite Nicolas Cage in the dramatic thriller Hungry Rabbit Jumps. Roger Donaldson (The Bank Job) is directing. I look forward to hearing what the name of the movie will eventually be … that title won’t stick, right?
The movie is about a man becomes wrapped up with an underground vigilante organization after his wife is the victim of a brutal crime. Maybe they got the idea from Law Abiding Citizen.
Last week, Jones signed on to star with Liam Neeson and Diane Kruger in Unknown White Male.

Not surprisingly, it seems that things are going well for January Jones's career after her great work in Mad Men. In a recent page 3, we mentioned that Jones would be joining Diane Kruger and Liam Neeson in Unknown White Male. Now it seems she has another theatrical project lined up. Jones will be starring in Hungry Rabbit Jump, alongside Nicolas Cage as his wife. The film will be helmed by Roger Donaldson (The Bank Job, Thirteen Days), with a script by Robert Tannen (Even Money).
We've known about the project since September, when Cage left The Green Hornet. The film concerns a man who is out for revenge after his wife becomes victim to a crime. He seeks out help from a vigilante group, and quickly gets in over his head. I'm not sure if we can rely on Cage not to give us a hilarious performance (somebody remind

“Mad Men” is paying big dividends for the lovely and talented January Jones. On Sunday she came signed on to “Unknown White Male” and will co-star with Liam Neeson and Diane Kruger. Two days later, Variety reports she has another major role as she joins Nicolas “Not the Bees” Cage for the upcoming thriller, “Hungry Rabbit Jumps”. Directed by Roger Donaldson (”The Bank Job”), the movie “centers on a man (Cage) who becomes entangled with an underground vigilante organization after his wife (Jones) is the victim of a brutal crime.” It will be Jones’ job to keep Cage from masticating every piece of scenery he can find. Shooting is set to begin this January while shooting for “Unknown White Male” is scheduled to begin shooting at the end of January. “Mad Men” will return for a fourth season but no word yet on when it will start shooting or when it will premiere.

I’ve seen January Jones around, and she’s always struck me as having the perfect Hollywood leading lady looks, which led me to wonder why she hasn’t been more famous. Her regular stint on AMC’s highly regarded “Mad Men” seems to have finally borne fruit, because just days after landing the role of Liam Neeson’s wife in “Unknown White Male” (along with Diane Kruger), Jones has landed the role of Nicolas Cage’s wife in the vigilante thriller “The Hungry Rabbit Jumps”.
In the $30 million dollar film set to be directed by Roger Donaldson (”The Bank Job”), Jones will play the wife of Nicolas Cage, who goes to a vigilante group for assistance when “a crime is perpetrated on his wife” (rape?), but gets more than he bargained for as a result. I don’t know what that means, but I’m assuming the vigilante group

Halloween is officially 8 days away (7 if you celebrate on the 30th), so it would make sense for a studio like Lionsgate to put out lots of genre films to coincide with the spookiest of holidays, right? Wrong, because according to them, March is the new Halloween. Whatever that means.
There is a brand new teaser out for Season of the Witch, starring Ron Perlman, Stephen Campbell Moore (The Bank Job), Ulrich Thomsen (Hitman), and yes, Nic Cage. Also, don’t be surprised that a film about witches isn’t coming out around Halloween, because director Dominic Sena’s last film, Whiteout, sat on the shelf for nearly a year before a soft release.
Though October is considered a dead financial month for films, it was nice that the trailer tried to cover it up by proclaiming that “Halloween is for Amateurs.” March isn’t a much better time, but it

Darren Aronofsky Pulls Off a Heist Movie

We'll start with the good news: Darren Aronofsky has signed up to direct and produce an adaptation of one of the most daring crimes
of the century. In Tonbridge, Kent, a group of criminals lifted $85 million from a
Securitas warehouse, although they didn't exactly get away with it.
Five people were convicted in January of last year in the largest cash theft in British history,
but the story has lived on, and Variety says the film with
Aronofsky's name on it will be adapted from a Sports Illustrated article called Breaking
the Bank and Howard Sounes' book, Heist: The Inside Story of the World's Biggest Bank
Robbery.
Tough to beat a good heist flick, really. We've been spoiled in that regard recently; both The
Bank Job and Inside Man are great fun, and two-thirds of the Ocean's trilogy
works, even though it's much lighter fare. Still, it's an ageless genre

Nicolas Cage is keeping himself busy these days. Just one week after boarding Patrick Lussier's 3D action flick "Drive Angry," Cage has now signed on to play the lead role in a thriller titled "The Hungry Rabbit Jumps."
Heat Vision reports Roger Donaldson ("The Recruit," "The Bank Job") will direct the film from a script by Robert Tannen. Tobey Maguire and his Maguire Entertainment will produce the project.
As far as the plot is concerned, "Rabbit" follows a man who gets involved with an underground vigilante organization after his wife falls victim to a brutal crime.

Nicolas Cage is not literally a hungry rabbit but has hopped on board to star in The Hungry Rabbit Jumps. Believe it or not, the film is actually a thriller, centering on a man whose wife is the victim of a brutal crime. He subsequently becomes entangled with an underground vigilante organization. The feature is written by Robert Tannen with Roger Donaldson, director of “The Bank Job”, helming the pic.
Hungry Rabbit Jumps will be under Maguire Entertainment, the production company from actor Tobey Maguire. Even though the Spider-Man actor will not be in front of the camera, he will be behind it serving as producer along with Jenno Topping, Ram Bergman and Jim Stern. Filming will start in January of 2010, no word yet on a settled release date. Currently Nicolas Cage is attached to a slew of projects, from Michael Gondry’s The Green Hornet, Kick Ass to the

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that just a few days after signing onto the 3D revenge film, Drive Angry, Nicolas Cage has signed on to star in the Roger Donaldson (The Bank Job) thriller, The Hungry Rabbit Jumps. Add this to Drive Angry and Cage’s reported in-talks involvement with The Green Hornet, and the actor looks to have a busy time ahead of him.
Along with Donaldson directing, The Hungry Rabbit Jumps is written by Robert Tannen (Even Money), and will be produced by Tobey Maguire (through his Maguire Entertainment venture) and Jim Stern (through financier, Endgame). The film, which was picked up last year, sees Cage as a man whose wife is the victim of a brutal crime. The shattered husband then gets entangled with an underground vigilante organization to (I assume) get revenge on those responsible.
If revenge is the road the film goes down, then The Hungry Rabbit Jumps

Nicolas Cage Signs Up for Yet Another Movie

We previously posted an article wondering why Nicolas Cage was selling eight out of his eleven houses. We know that he has a $6 million IRS debt, but even one of those houses will bring in more than that. Many of you might have also noticed that Cage is taking starring roles in more projects than usual. While he previously averaged two films per year, he now has six movies lined up for 2010 and several more for 2011. That's more than what Samuel L. Jackson has going on. Just a week ago, we reported that Cage would star in a revenge thriller "Drive Angry," and it has now been announced that he has also boarded "The Hungry Rabbit Jumps," a thriller that Roger Donaldson (The Bank Job) is directing. The Robert Tannen-written script centers on a man whose wife is the victim of a brutal crime. He subsequently becomes entangled with an underground vigilante organization.

Nic Cage is doing a movie called Hungry Rabbit Jumps and, even though the title sounds like something based on an obscure children.s book, it.s a revenge-thriller.
THR (which isn.t fooling anyone by registering geeky sounding domain names to randomly host some of its stories), says the Roger Donaldson directed movie casts Cage as a husband who becomes involved in an underground vigilante organization after his wife is the victim of a brutal crime.
Donaldson.s last gig was the well regarded Jason Statham movie The Bank Job. Before that he received even more critical acclaim as director of The World.s Fastest Indian. Probably, this isn.t going to be a typical, horrible Nic Cage movie. Still, I prefer my vigilantes in the loan avenger model. Vigilantism just isn.t as fun when it.s turned into an ultra-violent, neighborhood watch. Now Nic Cage will be

In his continued quest to star in 5 out of every 10 movies currently being made by Hollywood (it’s actually a pretty sound strategy; even if 4 of his 5 movies bomb, he’ll have at least 1 hit, right?), Nicolas Cage has attached himself to yet another movie, this time the Tobey Maguire-produced “The Hungry Rabbit Jumps”, a film with Roger Donaldson (”The Bank Job”) already onboard to direct. Originally, it was assumed Maguire would star, but that appears to have fallen by the wayside, and Spidey will now just produce the film with Cage fronting it.
THR’s Heat Vision Blog says Cage will star as a man whose wife is the victim of a brutal crime, leading him to become involved with an underground vigilante organization. The object is to get revenge, one assumes, though since the film was previously described as being in the vein of David Fincher’s

I'll be the first to admit that Nicolas Cage might actually be making a comeback. I saw Werner Herzog's Bad Lieutenant earlier today with Cage, and although he was very over the top, he was hilarious (in a good way). He's also got Kick-Ass coming up, which could help him out. THR's Heat Vision blog has announced tonight that Cage has joined the cast of The Hungry Rabbit Jumps, a thriller to be directed by The Bank Job director Roger Donaldson. The script, written by Robert Tannen, centers on a man whose wife is the victim of a brutal crime. He subsequently becomes entangled with an underground vigilante organization.
