Storyline

College student Lewis decides to drive across the country to see Venna, a friend who doesn't know that Lewis is interested in her romantically. Unfortunately for his plans, Lewis gets saddled with his raucous-spirited older brother, Fuller, whose on-the-road pranks get the brothers and Venna sucked into a nightmare when a psychotic truckdriver takes offense. Trivia

During the course of the movie, watch the LED signal strength indicator lights on the brothers' CB radio. The first four indicator lights change colors in nearly every scene, including bright green, dark green, yellow, red, and crimson. This is obviously intentional and not a series of continuity errors. Goofs

When they first get the CB radio, the antenna switches from the left to the right side of the Newport and back again (the film is flipped). When the antenna is seen on the right side, the rear bumper of the car appears smooth with the prominent dents missing. See more »

Quotes

Rusty Nail: Apologize.
Fuller Thomas: No. Listen, you sick fuck, you pathetic, lonely, walkie-talkie, freak show motherfucker. You're not getting anything from me. Know why? Because I have something that's more powerful then your psychosis. It's called a volume knob, and the only thing I have to do to make you go away is to turn it counterclockwise. You got that? You copy that?
Rusty Nail: You know, Black Sheep, you really ought to get that fixed.
Fuller Thomas: Get what fixed?
Rusty Nail: Your taillight.

Nothing horrible, but nothing great.
30 October 2005 | by See all my reviews

I am surprised at some of the ratings this movie received.

I've seen worst, but I've definitely seen better. I'll be honest and say that it was better than I expected it to be, but not by much. The plot wasn't extremely original, the movie was unrealistic (seriously, do you think such a thing would happen in reality?), and the protagonists were pretty stupid (in a lot of horror movies, the protagonists are, but it would be nice to see one where they are at least not complete idiots). The older of the two brothers was a total moron and the movie would be better if he died.

The movie can be best described with one simple word: Mediocre. If you only need to blow a bit of time, this movie will do. But if you're actually looking for a really good movie, walk past this one at the video store.
