Later when fully clothed, they lay down together as the scene fades out. A child results from this fornication. Mercedes is referred to as a "whore" by her husband. Fernand shoots Mercedes in the shoulder (some blood). Edmond and Fernand duel, fistfight, one hits the other in the head with a stone, Edmond stabs Fernand through the chest. The blade is shown sticking out the other side as he dies.

Profanity

1 damn and 1 or 2 uses of God's name. Edmond calls Napolean a Bastard. Fernard calls Albert a bastard correctly.

This is France. So drinking is common. Drinking in almost every scene not at the Chautea D'ff.

The prison may be frightening to some kids.
