Sykes Upset By 'Keep It Clean' Caution

Sykes Upset By 'Keep It Clean' Caution
Comedienne Wanda Sykes was left reeling backstage at the White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday when organisers told her to keep her hosting duties clean - just before she took to the stage.

The actress admits she found the caution from a White House official more than a little offensive.

She tells U.S. news show Extra, "They told me not to say the 'F' word or the 'N' word... I’m offended they even told me that. What do they think? I’m some ignorant a**. Like I’m going to go in there and say, 'What’s up n**ger.' Like, what the f**k they think I’m going to do?"

"They really think I was going to say that to the President...?"

Despite the warning, Sykes managed to cause a stir onstage - by likening right-wing radio host Rush Limbaugh to Osama Bin Laden and wishing for his kidneys to fail.

Doctor Urges Lohan To Get Help
The top Hollywood addiction specialist who predicted Britney Spears' meltdown feels sure Lindsay Lohan is heading for darker days following her split from girlfriend Samantha Ronson.

Dr. Drew Pinsky, who fronts hit reality TV show Celebrity Rehab, insists Lohan is a classic addict who is heading for a breakdown.

The medic, who hasn't treated the Mean Girls actress, tells U.S. news show Extra, "She's a straight-up addict," and she needs help.

He adds, "I've been saying for a while she's gonna have a major, major blow-out... before she becomes motivated to really capitulate to treatment."

And Dr. Pinsky feels Lohan and her worried parents should follow the example set by Spears' mum and dad, who forced the pop superstar into therapy as she started to crack up in 2007.

He explains, "Britney had a severe mental illness... Britney's only alive because of the actions of her parents."

Lohan's Bizarre Late-Night Nicholson Housecall
Lindsay Lohan left movie star Jack Nicholson baffled when she made a bizarre late-night housecall at his Hollywood Hills home on Friday - and the whole thing was caught on camera.

The Mean Girls star fled to the actor's home as she tried to avoid paparazzi attention following a night out.

She tried to gain access via a security intercom, explaining, "We're at the gate... It's Lindsay."

A man sounding like Nicholson replied, "Who?" before asking, "What's going on out there?"

He added, "What do you want me to do, honey?"

Lohan then instructed her passenger to ask the man on the other end of the intercom to open the gates for the girls, and her Mercedes was allowed to enter the grounds of Nicholson's pad after driving into a post outside the Hollywood charmer's estate.

The video footage was shown on U.S. news show Extra on Monday night.

The odd incident took place hours after a warrant was issued for Lohan's arrest. The warrant was dismissed on Monday after it became clear it was all part of a misunderstanding.

The former Saved By the Bell star, 34, made his debut as a TV anchor for U.S. entertainment show Extra earlier this month.

And despite reports he's made plans to release a workout video before this holiday season, Lopez insists he'll no longer be showing-off his six-pack.

He says, "My shirtless photo-shoot days are behind me. Obviously, being healthy and staying fit are important to me. My TV projects are my main priority. And no, you will never see me host Extra without a shirt."

Busey Apologises For Red Carpet Blunder

  • WENN
Gary Busey has publicly apologised for his bizarre behaviour on the red carpet at the Oscars last month when he lunged at a terrified Jennifer Garner and planted an unwanted kiss on her neck.

The actress and pal Laura Linney were in the middle of a live interview when Busey approached the pair and embraced and kissed them.

Nervous Garner had to struggle to maintain her composure as Busey then stood right next to her for the remainder of the televised interview with U.S. TV and radio personality Ryan Seacrest, before Linney dragged her away to safety.

Busey has since revealed he had no idea the ladies were being interviewed live, and now he's making a public apology on TV.

Speaking on U.S. TV show Extra, he says, "I got very excited and I did not know Ryan Seacrest was doing an interview. I apologised to Jennifer, I apologised to (husband) Ben (Affleck), I apologised to Ryan."

Hollywood ready for a red carpet with SAG Awards

Hollywood ready for a red carpet with SAG Awards
UPDATED 10:14 p.m. PT Jan. 24

Sunday's SAG Awards will be the industry's first red-carpet event in this strike-fractured awards season, and even the prospect of heavy rain hasn't dampened the enthusiasm.

"Considering we don't know what's going on with the Oscars and the fact that there wasn't a red carpet at the Globes, we're pulling out all the stops," "Access Hollywood" executive producer Rob Silverstein said.

The entertainment magazines and cable outlets are ready to throw more weight behind their coverage of this year's carpet and ceremony, following the WGA strike-ravaged Golden Globes on Jan. 13 and given the Oscar uncertainty. That means the SAG Awards -- which received a waiver from the WGA -- likely will attract more hoopla than ever in their 14th year.

Among those beefing up their presence on the red carpet or increasing the amount of time they are planning to devote to the SAG Awards are syndicated TV magazines "Access Hollywood", "Entertainment Tonight", "Inside Edition" and "Extra" and cable channels E! Entertainment and TV Guide.

Said "Inside Edition" exec producer Charles Lachman: "We're definitely covering the SAG Awards more than usual. We're always interested in the event, but obviously it will have more news value this go-round because of the strike and the possibility that it might be the only big red-carpet event of the awards season. So we're going all out on it."

Both "Access" and "Inside" are increasing their presence on the red carpet with additional camera positions. "Access" also is shooting in high-definition at the SAG ceremony for the first time and is planning "stunts" backstage and on the red carpet that it normally reserves for the bigger awards shows.

Silverstein said that three-quarters of Monday's TV show likely will be devoted to the SAG Awards, depending on other breaking news. "Access" also will be streaming interviews live from the red carpet on its Web site, marking the first time it will have done so at any awards show.

Lachman said "Inside" is "doubling its resources" for its SAG Awards coverage and also will be backstage in a one-on-one room, though he said it's hard to say how much of Monday's show will be devoted to the ceremony at this point.

"Entertainment Tonight" also is ramping up its presence. Mary Hart will be hosting Monday's show for the first time from the Shrine rather than throwing to Jann Carl from the studio.

Denise Richards is fighting ex-husband Charlie Sheen over her plans to include the former couple's two daughters in a new reality TV show. Sheen has refused to let his girls, three-year-old Sam and Lola, two, take part in the former Bond girl's TV plans - and so the ex-couple is going back to court later this week to fight it out. Sources tell news show Extra that Richards recently landed the reality TV deal, which will revolve around her life as a working single mum in Hollywood. In order for the girls to appear in the reality television show, Sheen has to approve but he has refused. Richards is asking the court to revoke Sheen's power as the children's father in this matter, so she can move forward with the show without his consent.

StarBrand lets fans buy what they see

NEW YORK -- StarBrand Media has announced several deals allowing consumers to purchase products integrated into TV shows including America's Next Top Model, Gossip Girl, The Tyra Banks Show and Extra.

The Extra deal with Telepictures allows consumers to purchase clothing, jewelry and other accessories worn by Hollywood celebrities during fashion segments on Extra, including red-carpet coverage during events like the Academy Awards.

Typically, companies like StarBrand have enabled consumers to purchase products from scripted or reality TV shows and films but not items worn by stars in real life. StarBrand shares revenue generated from the sale of products appearing in entertainment content with the companies producing it.

Scripted and reality TV show stars so far have not shared in the revenue when clothing or accessories they have worn on-air have been purchased through StarBrand, but CEO Travis Schneider said he is open to including celebrities appearing on Extra segments in the revenue mix. "It's certainly our interest to include everybody who's part of that value chain in what we're doing, so if that means including celebrities, then that's what we're prepared to do."

The Extra shopping destination will be launched early next year on ExtraTV.com as well as StarBrand.tv.

Shatner Fumes Over 'Star Trek' Snub
Actor William Shatner is furious producers of the new Star Trek movie failed to offer him a role. Shatner, who played Captain James Kirk in the original TV series and movies, is desperate for a part in the new version, directed by J.J. Abrams. And the 76-year-old is stunned he has not been offered a lead part in the upcoming film. He tells TV's Extra, "How could you not put one of the founding figures into a movie that was being resurrected? That doesn't make good business sense to me! I've become even more popular than I was playing Captain Kirk. I'm good box office and I get publicity. But, they are going in a different direction and it'll be a wonderful film." Shatner's Star Trek sidekick Leonard Nimoy will be the only original cast member on board for the prequel - he'll reprise his role as Mr. Spock in the film.

Handler Denies Halting 'Sex and the City' With Hiccups

  • WENN
Actor Evan Handler has hit out at reports claiming his "chronic hiccupping" has disrupted filming on Sex And The City: The Movie - insisting there is little truth to the claims. The 46-year-old star, who plays actress Kristin Davis' on-screen husband Harry Goldenblatt in the drama, was alleged to have admitted his problem has interfered with his latest project. According to the New York Post's gossip column, PageSix, he said: "It's been going on for the past two years. Sometimes it goes on for two, three days straight. So it was happening a little while filming, yes. But I can get it under control. I go to a quiet corner and redirect my breathing and centre myself." But Handler claims the article was a huge exaggeration of the truth. He tells TV show Extra, "My hiccup thing is a scam! I had some hiccups the other day, but pretty much everything else in that article was invented."

Police Report Confirms Wilson Attempted Suicide

  • WENN
Los Angeles police have confirmed actor Owen Wilson did try to kill himself at his Californian home on Sunday. The 38-year-old Wedding Crashers star was taken by ambulance from his Santa Monica property to the emergency room at the nearby St. John's Hospital at midday on Sunday. Reports immediately began circulating that Wilson had cut his wrists and taken pills in an attempt to end his life. He was reportedly found found by older brother Andrew, who called the authorities. And now the Santa Monica Police Department's Calls For Service report - obtained by U.S. news show Extra - lists the reason for the emergency 911 call to Wilson's address as an "attempted suicide." The phone call was received by authorities at 12:08pm on Sunday and "cleared" nearly five hours later at 5:07pm. Wilson made no mention of the controversy in a statement he released on Monday: "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time." The actor's family was seen at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was reportedly transferred to, on Sunday night. A hospital spokesman reported Wilson to be in a "good condition" on Monday.

Hasselhoff Films Himself Drunk

David Hasselhoff has started humiliating himself on camera - so he can see the monster he becomes when he's drunk. In a new video, obtained by TV show Extra, the intoxicated former Baywatch star can be seen shirtless, trying to focus on a hamburger in a Las Vegas hotel room. And a lawyer representing the actor tells the news show that it was his client's idea to appear in the shameful video - because he wanted to use the footage as an incentive to seek help and quit drinking. In the video, Hasselhoff, who has had several booze-related controversies, is berated by an off-camera family member, who begs him to "stop drinking." The telling video also suggests Hasselhoff's drinking problems threatened his run in hit Las Vegas show The Producers. The concerned family member, who can only be heard, says, "If you get alcohol tonight, you are fired from the show tomorrow and the doctor is coming over here in the morning to check your alcohol level. If you have any alcohol in your system, you are going to be fired from the show." During the video, Hasselhoff is repeatedly asked why he continued to "do this" to himself. Hasselhoff, who is presently locked in a bitter custody battle for his daughters with his ex-wife Pamela Bach, mumbled, "Cause, I'm lonely. I have trouble in my life." In a statement through his attorneys, Hasselhoff says, "I am a recovering alcoholic. Despite that, I have been going through a painful divorce and I have recently been separated from my children due to my work, I have been successfully dealing with my issue. Unfortunately, I did have a brief relapse, but part of recovery is relapse. Because of my honest and positive relationship with my children, who were concerned for my wellbeing, there was a tape made when I had a relapse to show me what I was like. I have seen the tape. I have learned from it, and I am back on my game. I thank God for the love and concern from my children."

Speaking on news show Extra last night, Bonaduce said, "She just looked at me and said, 'I'm not in love with you anymore, ' and three days later after I stopped crying I said 'Okie, dokie.' I will love her for the rest of my life and I want her to stay with me forever and ever." Meanwhile, Gretchen, who was part of Bonaduce's hit reality show Breaking Bonaduce, says, "We really weren't getting along and I think, for the kids sake, that it's the right time to do it. It's better to be from a broken home than in a broken home." Bonaduce admits he thought the couple's problems were over after he underwent a stint in rehab for substance abuse. He adds, "We always hoped that once I actually got sober, we could get past it and I guess unfortunately we couldn't."

'Huckabees' Tirade Hits Internet

  • WENN
Outtakes from 2004 movie I Heart Huckabees featuring actress Lily Tomlin and director David O. Russell in an obscenity-laced tirade have left internet surfers stunned. The clips started appearing on websites on Friday and were picked up by US news show Extra. No explanation was offered as Tomlin raged at Russell during a scene in which she seen sitting next to co-star Dustin Hoffman in a car, while in another bizarre clip, the Three Kings moviemaker appears to lose his cool and clear a desktop of papers as he verbally attacks the actress. And when co-star Hoffman attempted to intervene at one point, the angry actress turned to him and said, "You shut the f**k up." Despite the apparent on-set bust-up, Tomlin was all smiles when she was asked about working with Russell when it came to promoting the quirky film. She told Extra reporters, "I just have great affection and regard for David." Of the outtakes on the internet, Tomlin says, "I love David, there was a lot of pressure in making the movie." It's not the first time Russell has upset one of his stars - George Clooney was far from impressed with the moviemaker's techniques on the set of war film Three Kings in 1999.
