Forget the supernatural: In Kristen Stewart's next project, the New Moon star is taking a deeply human turn, playing a troubled teenager in the indie flick The Yellow Handkerchief, due in theaters in February. Costarring William Hurt, Mario Bello and Eddie Redmayne, the movie explores the relationships between three strangers who embark on a road trip through post-Katrina Louisiana. Stewart plays Martine, a teen who hopes to escape her family, while Hurt plays Brett Hanson, a man who has to choose between his ex-wife (played by Bello) or what's next.Related: New Moon Mania: What's Next for the Cast? »

I admit that the standing-in-line-for-days furor around New Moon mystifies me. I mean please, this is not The Final Ever Until Lucas Gets Another Idea Star Wars movie.
I also admit that I am old and a bit of a snob.
But last week, a young bisexual friend of mine put it in perspective for me with two words: Kristen Stewart.
My friend explained to me that while she certainly is a huge fan of the Twilight franchise, she would go see Kristen Stewart in anything. She just can’t take her eyes off of her. And it dawned on me: Stewart is my friend’s Meryl Streep. And judging by the responses of AfterEllen.com readers at any mention of Stewart, not to mention Hot 100 status, she’s not alone.
I have followed Kristen since Panic Room. She was able to make an impression even sharing the screen with Jodie Foster — no easy task. »

'I'm the luckiest person in the world,' the 'New Moon' star says.

Beverly Hills, California — Dating all the way back to names like Judy Garland, Mickey Rooney, Fatty Arbuckle, Shirley Temple and the Little Rascals, it seems like young overnight Hollywood sensations have been around for as long as Edward Cullen has been a vampire. Some have navigated the choppy waters of fame and gone on to great careers (Jodie Foster, Johnny Depp), while others (Jan-Michael Vincent, Lindsay Lohan) haven't been so lucky.
In the past year, names like Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner have been splashed across supermarket tabloids, "hot" lists and paparazzi-stalking itineraries. But when we recently caught up with Stewart to discuss the stars' upcoming return in "New Moon," she insisted that A-level fame isn't really as bad as it's sometimes made out to be. »

'I would have to be dead, zombie Bella who's just absolutely destroyed, to waking up again,' she says.

Beverly Hills, California — Asking fans to name the best "Twilight Saga" actor inevitably results in a debate only slightly less passionate than the topic of whether "Breaking Dawn" was a worthy finale for the novels. No matter who your pick is, however, it's hard to deny that at the tender age of 19, Kristen Stewart has positioned herself to become a dominant Hollywood actress for decades to come.
With more than 20 movies under her belt, acclaim in such wide-ranging flicks as "Into the Wild," "Panic Room" and "Adventureland," and praise from the likes of Jodie Foster and Ryan Reynolds, KStew is undoubtedly an actress to watch.
But according to her, it was next week's "New Moon" that demanded some of the most difficult work yet in her young career. »

David Koepp is best known as one of Hollywood's highest paid screenwriters (and one of Spielberg's scribes). His screenwriting credits include everything from Toy Soldiers, Jurassic Park, and Carlito's Way, to Panic Room, Spider-Man, War of the Worlds and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. For the last decade he's been trying to make the transition into feature film directing. He made his debut with the promising Stir of Echoes, but has since followed up with some lackluster efforts, the 2004 Stephen King adaptation Secret Window and the 2008 Ricky Gervais supernatural romantic comedy Ghost Town. Honestly, I think Koepp is a much better screenwriter than he is a filmmaker, and that's not saying much considering the abundance of lackluster screenplays he's been involved with in the last 10-12 years. With that kind of intro, you must be really interested in his next directorial effort (yes, that was ... »

Back in 1995, director David Fincher and screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker (The Wolfman) collaborated on what is now touted as a “crime classic” and “a blueprint for modern serial killer movies.” That movie was Se7en, and I totally agree with all the praise that’s been heaped upon it (it recently featured in our “Horror Plus” series).
Now, 14 years later, Fincher and Walker are going to be collaborating once more, this time on an adaptation of the novel The Reincarnation of Peter Proud for Columbia. THR’s Heat Vision Blog reports the news of their involvement, along with producer Michael De Luca (Blade, Ghost Rider). The author of the book, Max Ehrlich, adapted it into a movie in 1975 of the same name, so I guess in a way this movie is a remake by Fincher (there’s that “remake or new adaptation” question again). According to THR:

If anyone seems to have taken being under the "Twilight" microscope the hardest it's Kristen Stewart. The teenage actress who'd first come to moviegoers attention in David Fincher's "Panic Room" had been on something of an indie movie tear before being cast as the iconic Bella in Catherine Hardwicke's big screen adaptation of "Twilight." From the cast's first Comic-Con appearance to the surprise blockbuster's premiere Stewart seemed overwhelmed by all the media attention and intense fan frenzy. And considering that she'd been around the business for as long as she had it was a bit surprising. Well get ready, because that's... »

Beverly Hills, California — Rob and Kristen are engaged. They're going to name their first child a combination of their mothers' names, just like in the "Twilight" books. A big wedding is on the way, quite likely with Bigfoot officiating.
As their fame has grown, so has the insanity level of the rumors about their personal lives. On Friday (November 6), "New Moon" star Robert Pattinson sat down with MTV News, and was eager to address one of the more notable bits of news he saw the last time he Googled himself.
"I like the story about me being pregnant," laughed the 23-year-old British heartthrob. "It was in some Australian magazine, on the front page!"
As they've filmed "New Moon" and "Eclipse," Rob and Kristen Stewart have spent the last »

From Hollywood Crush: So apparently "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart doesn't want to be like a certain Oscar-winning Un ambassador who has given birth to Brad Pitt's children. "I don't want to be a movie star like Angelina Jolie," KStew told the British magazine Fabulous.
If you ask me, Angelina has a pretty darn impressive personal and professional resume — one nearly any human being on earth would kill to possess — but, hey, who am I to question Kristen's dreams and nightmares? I've admired her gritty acting talents since 2002's "Panic Room," and with "New Moon" coming up in a matter of weeks, her career is only on the rise. But if she doesn't want to model her career after Angie, who should she aspire to be? And, almost as important, whose Hollywood fate should she do everything she can to avoid?

Kristen Stewart just can't stop complaining about her fame, which as she has said for several times intrudes her private life. "I don't want to be a movie star like Angelina Jolie", she tells Fabulous. "Nothing about being a celebrity is desirable. I'm an actor. It's bizarre to me that everybody's so obsessive."
The depicter of Bella Swan in "Twilight" goes on comparing the vampire film's leading character Edward Cullen, which is played by Robert Pattinson, to the concept of celebrity. "Edward is actually a really good parallel to fame. As a vampire he has a sad, desolate life - fame is the same," she explains.
Claiming her fame after starring in 2002 flick "Panic Room", Kristen Stewart becomes more famous after her film "Twilight" was released last year. It was since that time she receives more media attention and always followed by a throng of paparazzi wherever she goes.

One tMF viewer, who is apparently a Megan Fox fan, once said 'Megan Fox is overrated as a celebrity but not as an actress.' That comment made me think: Is there really such a difference? Can't we judge someone who is a celebrity and an actress, and treat her as one and the same? She's just one person right?

Megan Fox may be overrated as a "celebrity," but she is actually underrated, As An Actress.
She gets a ridiculously inordinate amount of criticism for her acting because the part of her career that made her famous was a part that focused on how attractive she was, not anything that could actually showcase any acting skills, »

Before I launch into the conclusion of my 50 Influential Scream Queens (read part 1 here), please let me remind you that this list is based upon my personal taste, and my personal taste alone. I didn't poll 100 Fango readers, the Fango staff or any other form of 'industry professionals'. It's all opinion, so if you feel I've wronged a certain actress by excluding them from the list, don't leap to brand the entire Fango crew 'vile'. I probably just don't personally find their work to be that influential. Either that or I'm just ignorant to their accomplishments!
25. Mia Farrow: Mia's genre work may be a bit limited, but that doesn't change the fact that Rosemary's Baby will forever be regarded as one of the creepiest films in history. Farrow's portrayal of Rosemary Woodhouse is harrowing to say the least, and will always remain (in my mind) one of the best performances the genre has seen. »

Fans of HBO’s Entourage know Adam Goldberg as Nick Rubenstein, the spoiled coke-addicted son of a famous movie producer who agrees to fund Medellin, Vince's ill-fated dream project. To others, he is Julie Delpy’s lover in the romantic drama 2 Days in Paris, or the "stereotypically Jewish" guy in films like Dazed and Confused and The Hebrew Hammer. Over the last decade or so, Goldberg has worked with a slew of top-drawer directors including Steven Spielberg (Saving Private Ryan) Tony Scott (Déjà vu), David Fincher (Zodiac), Richard Linklater (Waking Life) and Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind), predominantly in supporting roles. He is also an accomplished musician and filmmaker.
Now, in the satirical spoof on New York’s Chelsea art scene (Untitled), Goldberg steps into the lead role as Adrian Jacobs, a brooding and sullen composer of esoteric discordant musical works that feature — among other sounds produced by ready-made everyday »

Her boyfriend bites necks, so why shouldn't she have a nibble too? Kristen Stewart first came to mainstream attention with her role as Jodie Foster's daughter in David Fincher's Panic Room in 2002, though she had a nice, small part in Rose Troche's The Safety of Objects and really hit a home run with Jessica Sharzer's superb, underseen Speak in 2004. But it wasn't until she landed the coveted role of Bella Swan in Twilight that everyone started paying attention.
Maybe a little too much attention, as evidenced by the video posted after the jump (courtesy of College Humor). In the video, Stewart's proclivity for biting her own lower lip has been highlighted. And the conclusion is ... she does it a lot, at least in Twilight and Adventureland, which seem to be the two movies that the clips have been drawn from. To be honest, it's a little »

For starters, Interview Magazine isn't the only publication to be showcasing Stewart's beauty on the cover. Allure Magazine, who had a gorgeous photoshoot with Stewart this summer, will be featuring Kristen Stewart in their November issue - forthcoming on October 20th.Meanwhile, Celebuzz went back in time - saying positive things, this time - and looked back at Stewart during her formative years as an actress in Panic Room with Jodie Foster. The New Haven Register, too, took a leap back (albeit a shorter one) to showcase Stewart's film The Cake Eaters and its involvement with the Tribeca Film Festival. They included a snippet about Stewart's performance as Georgia in the film, noting the authenticity in delivery of a difficult part. Sam Bode said Kristen Stewart really “hit the nail on the head ... As for appearances, Stewart is expected to making a showing at Spike TV's Scream 2009 awards - »

Bring on the Araki! After getting busy with candy-coated 3-ways in Splendor, Gregg Araki concocted a little yin and yang. First came the gritty drama of Mysterious Skin, which revealed a range we didn't know existed. Then came the exact opposite -- the ridiculous Anna Faris-starring stoner comedy Smiley Face. But now the cult director is heading back to the green sprouts of sexual exploration.
The Hollywood Reporter posts that Araki is shooting his latest feature, Kaboom, and he's tapped Roxane Mesquida (Fat Girl), Thomas Dekker (Sarah Connor Chronicles), Kelly Lynch (Charlie's Angels), and Rooney Mara (Youth in Revolt) to star. Not much is being revealed at this time, but here's what I could find online. As THR notes, Kaboom will focus on "the sexual awakening of a group of college students." Araki started the feature last month, Helen STELLaR is performing in a scene, and Ann Magnuson (Panic Room »
