The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

None.

Meg (Jodie Foster) is seen taking a bath, but the camera only shows her face and the top of her shoulders.

Violence & Gore

the main theme of the movie is about 3 robbers who break into a house. Little do they know that a mother and daughter are now living there. The mother and daughter go to the "Panic Room" and lock themselves in. The 3 robbers then start to terrorize the family.

Parents should know there are some scattered scenes of graphic violence, including a scene where Raoul murders Junior at pointblank range with a graphic headshot and the mother slams Raouls fingers in the door, which mangles his hand graphically

a scene where Raoul beats Stephen Altman (the father) to a bloody pulp and we see the results

There's a few scenes that result in quite bloody situations: A guy gets gets his eye blown out. The mother hits a guy with a sledgehammer causing him to fall down a flight of stairs.

Graphic violence throughout the entire film

Very little blood sprays on a womans face (only a few drops)

At the end a man is wearing a blood-soaked shirt and he has a very bloody face.

Profanity

very constant use of the F-word (around 59) and other R-Rated profanities

Over half of the F-words are said by Raul and Junior. A 12 year old girl also utters the word at least a few times.

the mother has wine with her dinner

She also has some wine when taking a bath (in fact, she slugs a half a glass down there)

the daughter has diabetes and needs medication which is administered through a shot. (you do not see her get the injection) Burnham, one of the robbers, ends up giving the girl the shot.

A guy's arm catches on (blue) fire.

This film isn't very frightening, but there are some strong intense scenes.

A guy gets his hand caught in a thick metal door, and it stays caught there for a very long time. Afterwords when he finally gets it free, we see the bloody results usually from a far shot distance.

A diabetic girl goes into a diabetic fit.

Raul is very sinister throughout the entire film (especially after he loses his mask)

There's not so many gore/blood scenes in the film, just some violence.
