Storyline

Three generations of a middle-class family live together in a large row-house in Hong Kong. Headed by matriarch Dut (Pik-Wan Tang), the family go through good times and bad, having to face issues dealing with broken marriages, rocky relationships and past struggles. Their family business, a delicatessen café, is headed by middle son Chuan (Fung Kwok). Chuan's wife Pui (Tin-Ngoh Seung) has some resentment towards Chuan's immediate relatives and wants higher status within the family tree, even if it resorts to devious means to obtain it. This is a popular Hong Kong drama, featuring three generations of family members living in a fairly large row home in Hong Kong. They go through the ups and downs in life and strive to resolve issues plaguing each other.

The acting is spot on, each character giving a heartfelt and dramatic performance. The plot has it all, from suspense to drama and from humor to thrills.

Each episode features stories that is gripping and unpredictable, making you eager to find out what happens next.

It was the Hong Kong TV series to watch of the 1980s. It was one I watched when I was a kid.
