There was a moment in which the Spiderman film franchise looked to be possibly dead in the water, and seemed an uneven string of works for director Sam Raimi. The first film was good but flawed, the second film incredible; the third film left such a bad taste in many people’s mouths that it became hard to revisit the others. In the wake of The Dark Knight, it was even harder to look back, and I assumed the franchise was going to stall for years before a reboot.
I was absolutely incorrect. Not only is Raimi and co. gearing up for Spiderman 4 with attached writers David Lindsay-Abaire and Gary Ross, but a writer has been hired to start the ball rolling on Spiderman 5 and Spiderman 6 as well. It’s not known whether Raimi plans on staying with the series that long, but one name will: James Vanderbilt. Variety has

Ever the popular thing to do, another comic book adaptation in the works is Dead of Night, a movie version of the Italian horror comic Dylan Dog, originally published in the mid-’80s. If you are an avid Screen Rant reader, you might not have heard of this adaptation (because we haven’t covered it until this point) - just so you know, it’s one that’s apparently been in the works for a little while now. Brandon Routh has already been cast in the lead role of Dylan, and Sam Huntington has been cast as his sidekick.
The film is said to contain all manner of beasts, including vampires, zombies and werewolves. With (from what I can gather), a particular emphasis on the vampire angle. As mentioned above Routh and Huntington have already been cast some time ago, but today the leader of the vampires we will see has been cast: Taye Diggs.

Former Broadway singer Taye Diggs doesn't appear on the big screen that often. He was in Rent most recently, and Basic, Chicago and Equilibrium before that. However, ShockTillYouDrop has learned that Diggs has joined the cast of Dead of Night, the live-action movie based on the Dylan Dog comics that Kevin Munroe is directing. Apparently Diggs will play the leader of the vampires, the primary villain in the movie, which not only features plenty of vampires, but zombies and werewolves as well. We already know that Brandon Routh is playing the lead role as Dylan Dog and starring as his sidekick is Sam Huntington.
The make-up effects for Diggs' vampire look, as well as Huntington who is also undead, are being handled by Drac Studios, who has worked on Trailer Park of Terror, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Watchmen previously. Dylan Dog is an Italian comic that was
