Trivia:
In the second season finale, "Starcrossed", the producers decided not to use the familiar Hawkman from the comics. The Hawkman in "Starcrossed" is named Hro Talak. Hro Talak is an anagram of Katar Hol, the name of Hawkman in the comics. The personality of Hro Talak is entirely different from that of Katar Hol. more

While any show featuring "The Big Seven" of the DC universe is going to be fun to watch, this is a show that went past that in no time. Constantly pushing the bounds of superhero animation, this show featured mature writing and themes that put everything else on TV to shame.

The animation was clean and detailed, as fans have come to expect from Bruce Timm. One small problem was the first two seasons opening credits - the computer animation should probably have been steered away from as it looks stiff and (In the end) kind of silly.

The Voice acting is marvelous with Batman being the standout of the group.

The only real problem I have with this show is the basic problem with the Justice League in comics - Batman. Seeing him alongside the other hugely powerful characters makes him seem less than useful. In the comic, Grant Morrison fixed this by making him the scariest character in the DC universe. However, as this show was on the cartoon network during prime time, that route was blocked off to the show. Unfortunately, it wouldn't have been the Justice League without him, so I can't really hold that against the show.

Final thoughts on the show: I wish it had lasted longer and I wish it had been released on DVD sooner. Great show that really set the tone for future comic based shows.
