Vincent D'Onofrio returns as driven detective Robert Goren, a genius with a keen mind for mysteries, details, and the vagaries of human nature, in the second season of the third show in the Law and Order franchise. Unlike previous shows, this is less an ensemble than a showcase for the eccentric investigative approach of Goren. Kathryn Erbe plays his partner, a sharp investigator who plays counterbalance in social situations, Jamey Sheridan is their politically-minded Captain, and Courtney B. Vance the District Attorney.
