Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

A man passionately kisses his wife

Violence & Gore

Extreme war violence. Many people are shot and killed in brutal ways. White phosphorus explodes and gets into one mans face. His buddy has to take it out of the screaming man's face with his bayonet. One man is badly burned with napalm. When a reporter tries to get him on a med-evac helicopter the skin on his legs slide off. Other violence includes someone getting their brains blown out in slow-motion (blood and a bit of brain matter spill everywhere) and people being torn to pieces with a machine gun. One of the NVA soldiers head is split and torn up by the constant rate of fire. The Americans charge the NVA positions in a bayonet charge, many people are stabbed. At the end of the film we see a huge pile of dismembered and bloody corpses. In the first scene of the movie French soldiers are ambushed and slaughtered by NVA troops. A French soldiers neck gets shot through and blood sprays out, he lies wounded, choking on his own blood until a soldier finally finishes him off. Several NVA soldiers are blown to bits by a jet's cannon.

Profanity

Not as much as one would expect in a war film. Especially one about Vietnam. Still there are several obscenities including 16 F-words (3 in subtitles), 10 S-words and other profanities.

Smoking

The firebombing scene is extremely disturbing as the man is disfigured by the napalm.

Extremely violent and disturbing throughout.
