21 December 2009 10:43 AM, PST | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

El Mayimbe over Latino Review has posted an exclusive report on the pool of actresses that are said to be in the final rounds of consideration for the role of Carol Ferris, the lady love interest of The Green Lantern, Hal Jordan.

Now, the list of actresses who will possibly star opposite Ryan Reynolds (who will be playing Hal Jordan) is a pretty nice collection of former or current TV and/or film stars. All of them are hot – some of them are even good actresses. We have a nice set of photos for you to look over and consider, which is certainly not a bad way to start your Monday.

If you remember, we got our first notion of how Carol Ferris would be portrayed in The Green Lantern earlier this fall when the casting call for Green Lantern supporting roles was released. here’s what the filmmakers said »

18 December 2009 10:48 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Boris Kodjoe has landed the lead role in J.J. Abrams' next project, The Undercovers.

Abrams, of course, is responsible for a number of successful shows, most notably Alias and Lost. The upcoming NBC husband-and-wife NBC spy drama has been billed as a combination of Mr. and Mrs. Smith and The Bourne Identity.

Kodjoe will portray Steven, one half of the featured couple. On the small screen, the actor has appeared on Boston Public and Nip/Tuck.

Steven's wife, Samantha, has not yet been cast.

Earlier this week, Gerald McRaney was chosen to play the CIA operative that serves as the duo’s boss. »

Are You Ready to go Undercovers with Jj Abrams?

16 December 2009 5:27 AM, PST | WeAreMovieGeeks.com | See recent WeAreMovieGeeks.com news »

For anyone worried that J.J. Abrams may fizzle out of ideas, don’t count on it very soon. In television alone, the success of Alias was one thing, but now with the sixth and final season of the unbelievably popular Lost almost upon us and his new sci-fi series Fringe currently in it’s second season, Abrams’ prepares to introduce the pilot for a new series called Undercovers.

Abrams co-wrote the pilot for Undercovers with Josh Reims (Brothers & Sisters, Felicity) and is toying with the idea of directing it himself. The pilot is being produced by Wbtv and has been described as a mix between Mr. & Mrs. Smith and The Bourne Identity. The story revolves around a married couple who work together as spies.

The first actor to be cast in Abrams’ new pilot is Gerald McRaney. The name may not sound familiar but many of you may remember him »

Promo & Photos – ABC's "Happy Town"

15 December 2009 4:22 PM, PST | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

ABC's new midseason show, Happy Town, is set to premiere in 2010, although I'm not yet sure of the exact date.  However, ABC has released some information for us, including a long promo, a description of the show, and several photos (presumably from the pilot episode).

The show looks a bit like Twin Peeks – a show about a small town with weird characters and even weirder circumstances.

Haplin, Minnesota, "Happy Town," has enjoyed an uneasy peace for five years, but all that is about to change. Still haunted by a number of unsolved kidnappings, the small town now faces a dark new crime that brings all its unresolved fears to the surface. Has the elusive "Magic Man" – who many believe is responsible for the bizarre abductions — returned to claim another victim? As Haplin's mysteries are revealed, many of its prominent citizens' motives come under scrutiny as their own secrets and personalities »

Jennifer Garner`s stalker arrested - near daughters school

15 December 2009 3:29 AM, PST | Monsters and Critics | See recent Monsters and Critics news »

Actress Jennifer Garner can breathe a little easier now that a crazed man who been stalking her for years has been arrested. But disturbingly, he was apprehended near her four-year-old daughter’s school. Steven Burky, 37, was arrested on Monday for violating a restraining order granted against him in November 2008. Burky – described in court documents as 6'1? (185cm) and 145 lb (65kg) with blonde hair and blue eyes - was found by police near the school attended by Violet Affleck. The Alias actress and her lawyer told the court in 2008 that Burky had been engaging in “excessive and harassing behaviour” toward Garner since 2002. According to documents filed at the time, the stalking »

Garner's Alleged 'Stalker' Arrested

15 December 2009 12:11 AM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Jennifer Garner's alleged 'stalker' was arrested for violating his restraining order on Monday - he was found near the actress and Ben Affleck's daughter Violet's school.

Steven Burky was ordered by a judge last month to stay away from the Alias star's family for the next three years.

He was also told to stay 100 yards (300 feet/91 metres) from the actress, Affleck, Violet, the couple's nanny, housekeeper and others.

Garner claimed "Mr Burky has been stalking and harassing me," sending "packages and letters containing delusional and paranoid thoughts and following me around the country... his obsessive and harassing behaviour has escalated to the point of becoming dangerous and threatening".

But the order hasn't deterred Burky - he was arrested on Monday after he was found near four-year-old Violet's co-operative school in Los Angeles, according to RadarOnline.com.

No further information was available as WENN went to press. »

J.J. Abrams' Next Film Could Be A Top Secret Paramount Project

14 December 2009 11:00 AM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

It's easy to see why J.J. Abrams is such a hot commodity after revitalizing the "Mission: Impossible" franchise and making "Star Trek" cool again with last summer's blockbuster reboot. But the director's next voyage might not be with Ethan Hunt or the U.S.S. Enterprise — it could be something wholly unknown.

In a New York Times interview with Paramount Pictures chairman Brad Grey, it's revealed that while Abrams' name is still attached to the "Mission: Impossible" and "Star Trek" franchises in some capacity, the filmmaker's next directorial project might be a new unannounced "tentpole" film.

"We have been wildly ambitious," said Grey of his and Abrams' film plans, which includes the secretive project. "It has much to do with the fact that we are feeling as strong as we are."

In the past, Abrams has said that he probably won't direct "Mission: Impossible 4," and helming a "Star Trek" sequel isn't a certainty, »

Shonda Rhimes explains why Arizona got the girl

8 December 2009 2:00 PM, PST | AfterEllen.com | See recent AfterEllen.com news »

Love it or hate it, Grey’s Anatomy changed television.

That may seem an overstatement, since Grey’s isn’t in the category of the dramas usually referred to as transformational — The Sopranos, Mad Men or Six Feet Under, for example. But in terms of pop culture, the influence of the show is obvious every time someone says, “Seriously?” or refers to an essential part of the body as the “va-jay-jay.”

Sure, Grey’s often is infuriating, but that’s just proof that we have an emotional investment in the characters and their stories. And for that, we have to thank Shonda Rhimes, who was chosen as one of TV Guide’s “Players” — the people who made the decade’s best TV.

Rhimes takes her place among J.J. Abrams (Alias, Lost, Fringe), Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip), Dick Wolf (Law & Order, ad infinitum) and »

'Law & Order: Svu' books Lena Olin

8 December 2009 9:14 AM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Oscar and Emmy nominee Lena Olin will guest-star on an episode of "Law & Order: Svu" later this season.

Olin will play the attorney for a billionaire (Richard Burgi of "Desperate Housewives") who becomes entangled in a kidnapping case in the episode, NBC says. Russell G. Jones, who has appeared on the other "L&O" series in the past, will also guest as Burgi's head of security, who discovers a young woman has been abducted from his building.

The episode, titled "Confidential," is scheduled to air in February.

"Ever since I first saw Lena Olin in 'The Unbearable Lightness of Being,' I've been a huge admirer of her work," "Svu" executive producer Neal Baer says. "To have her guest on 'Svu' in this intense role is what makes my job so gratifying."

Olin earned an Emmy nomination in 2003 for "Alias" and an Oscar nod in 1989 for "Enemies, a Love Story. »

JJ Abrams, an EW Entertainer of the Decade, on 'Star Trek,' 'Lost,' and his collaborators

7 December 2009 4:46 PM, PST | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

Alias. Lost. Fringe. Mission Impossible 3. Cloverfield. Star Trek. All in all, writer/director/producer JJ Abrams had a pretty sweet decade. That’s why we at Entertainment Weekly named him one of the Entertainers of the Decade in our Best of the Decade issue, on stands now. In particular, 2009 was a peak year for the 43-year-old Abrams thanks to Star Trek, a global box-office smash that revitalized a lagging pop culture franchise. Abrams — an unabashed Star Wars guy — had been a Trek shrugger himself, but fell in love with the world the more he worked on it. “I didn’t »

The executive producers of the popular series talks about the season

Fringe is one of the biggest hits of the Fox lineup and it is currently airing on Thursday nights at 9 Pm Et on Fox. Two of the biggest reasons for the show's success are executive producers Jeff Pinkner and Joel Wyman and the producers recently held a conference call to discuss the new season. Here's what they had to say.

In the season finale, the Peter storyline, obviously it's kind of a large bombshell, it's kind of been on the back burner though a little bit his season. When can we expect to have that revisited?

Joel Wyman: We're definitely, definitely going to revisit it this season, and we're going to get into all, some details, and we're going to follow that through.

Any sort of specific timeline or just this season?

Joel Wyman: I would just say it's slowly unraveling throughout the season. »
