'Eclipse' In The Mountains, 'Borderlands' And Amanda Bynes Wants Marriage In Today's Twitter-Wood

22 October 2009 3:30 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

David Slade's still in the thick of "Eclipse" filming, and in his most recent tweetage from the set, it sounds like there's some violence in the mountains getting underway with some celebration on the side. A few of his cast members still seem to have Rome on their minds, which is understandable given the "New Moon" footage premiering there.

In completely non-"Twilight"-related posting, Ashton Kutcher's been hanging out with Barbra Streisand and Jeremy Piven headed out to an event being held by Matt Damon in San Francisco. Meanwhile, Ice-t's been shooting up the post-apocalyptic world of "Borderlands." To find out what he thoughts of it, as well as what Amanda Bynes thinks of marriage and what Arnold Schwarzenegger's been up to with a bunch of boy scouts, click onward to the Twitter-Wood report for October 22, 2009.

Ugly Betty: Preview of Season 4 Premiere "The Butterfly Effect"

16 October 2009 3:00 AM, PDT | buddytv.com | See recent BuddyTV news »

It's time to get ugly again, and we don't mind that one bit if it means Ugly Betty is back for its fourth season.  Tonight marks the premiere of a two-hour episode that will certainly get the attention of fans.  Not just fans of the series, but also fans of butterflies.  Or both, whatever suits your fancy.

Anyway, the new episode of Ugly Betty is titled "The Butterfly Effect," and it's not about that freaky Ashton Kutcher movie that made me fear homicidal children.  Tonight's installment is a wave of change.  Betty's (America Ferrera) embarking on her new job as associate features editor but the challenges are already flooding in.  The biggest one yet is facing her boss, ex-boyfriend Matt Hartley (Daniel Eric Gold).

Spotlight: Revelations about Ádám Balázs

3 October 2009 12:11 AM, PDT | Daily Film Music Blog | See recent Daily Film Music Blog news »

I wish I had the chance to interview more compatriot composers here, but fact is there are very few Hungarian film composers I could talk to. Adam Balazs is one of them - although he lives in Los Angeles, he recently completed his first score to a Hungarian movie: Szíven szúrt ország is a documentary about the murder of a handball player whose tragic death brought forward many unresolved issues within the country. In addition to this new documentary, Ádám's new movie The Butterfly Effect 3: Revelations will have a soundtrack CD released pretty soon, which is a first for the composer (although several of his scores are available through download options). We discussed these and a number of other projects in the following interview:

How did your interest in music begin?

I grew up in a fully musical environment — my father is a distinguished classical composer and before her retirement, »

Simon Pegg Testifies, Shannon Elizabeth Kisses A Zombie And 'Sweet Valley High' In Today's Twitter-Wood

24 September 2009 3:00 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Simon Pegg happily tweeted about the publicity he hopes to see "How to Lose Friends & Alienate People" get in the U.S. now that an on-set burglary has resulted in a trial. If his co-star Megan Fox wasn't enough to get the film some attention, he predicts that his testimony will be.

One film that's been getting loads of Twitter attention this week has been "Zombieland," which everyone seems to have been invited to see. Shannon Elizabeth can be counted among those invitees and gets today's Twitter Pic of Day vote with the cutest zombie kiss you'll see this week. Check it out below along with Rumer Willis' backstage shot of a Govt. Mule concert, what Taylor Lautner has in common with a roller coaster and what Richard Kelly wants to see in Diablo Cody's "Sweet Valley High" movie. 'Men Who Stare At Goats,' Ted Kennedy And Shannon Elizabeth's View Of The L.A. Fires In Today's Twitter-Wood

28 August 2009 4:30 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

"Men Who Stare at Goats," the new George Clooney and Ewan McGregor film about psychic soldiers, kicked off a flurry of commentary on Twitter this week, and at least one producer out there loves Jeff Bridges' role.

There's been a lot of real-life drama sweeping through the Twitter-Wood feed as well this week, including Ted Kennedy's death and memorial service and the wildfires in Los Angeles that have forced thousands of residents out of their upscale L.A. neighborhoods. Shannon Elizabeth caught a shot of the fires from her living room window, which you can find below. It's all there along with Miley Cyrus and a factoid you likely never knew about Clive Barker in the Twitter-Wood report for August 28, 2009.

Exclusive Interview: The Final Destination 's Eric Bress

25 August 2009 | shocktillyoudrop.com | See recent shocktillyoudrop news »

One half of the team that brought us Final Destination 2 and The Butterfly Effect is back to wreak more havoc in The Final Destination , the supposedly last entry in New Line's grand guignol franchise. Eric Bress, who penned the second installment with J. Mackye Gruber, spent the last few years since the 2003 sequel cutting his teeth in the director's chair (with Butterfly ) and writing/producing the television series Kyle Xy . He returns to the Destination series with director David Ellis (again, from part 2). And as I came to find out in my chat with Bress this week, the sick bastard still exudes the same passion about devising ways to kill people as he did when I met him six years ago. The Demi-Ashton Ratio, 'Toy Story' And David Allan Coe In Today's Twitter-Wood

24 August 2009 3:00 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Could observations about the relationship between Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore reveal your key financial prosperity? Well, at least one CNBC analyst thinks they might, and the happy couple was amused enough to tweet their reactions today in the Twitter-Wood feed.

The feed experienced an image-heavy weekend of tweets -- enough that selecting a Twitter Pic of the Day was not a cut-and-dry decision this afternoon. In the end, I chose a shot that country music fans will appreciate and everyone else in the free world will at least experience bewilderment at. It's a candid photo from Vegas that Penn Jillette recently caught with singer David Allan Coe. Its creepy second-placing challenger was a piece of fan art someone put together for Rose McGowan. In the old days fans depended on pencils and crayons; now, they have 3-D rendering software. Feast your eyes below, because it's all in the Twitter-Wood »

Back to the Future named top time travel movie

19 August 2009 3:45 AM, PDT | Boxwish.com | See recent BoxWish news »

Nothing messes with your mind like the thought of time travel, especially when in the ever popular context of movies. It’s a subject which invites countless questions (would this have happened if that doesn’t? But how did he get here when he’s meant to be there? And so on and so on), and its introduction to a film plot can make what was previously easily understood into a mess of miscomprehension, reducing even the smartest among us into clueless schmucks. Help! We don’t remember the problems of closed timelike curves cropping up in our school physics lessons. But the riddle still continues to enthrall film audiences and LOVEFiLM has conducted a survey into the UK’s favourite time travel flick with seminal 80s classic Back to the Future coming out on top with an impressive 40 per cent. Brett Favre, 'Inglourious Basterds' And Brett Ratner's Favorite Director In Today's Twitter-Wood

18 August 2009 3:00 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Brett Favre may have had problems sticking to a decision about his retirement over the last couple of years, but the talking heads of the Twitter-Wood feed let their opinions be known loud and clear today. In an abbreviated rundown, I've included input from Seth Meyers, Rainn Wilson and Ashton Kutcher, among others. Whatever your take, hopefully we can all agree that he was great with Cameron Diaz in "There's Something About Mary."

The second Brett in the report today, Ratner, wished his favorite director, Roman Polanski a happy birthday. Click on down to read what he had to say alongside a post-"Inglourious Basterds" suggestion for the Weinsteins, Tom Felton's return to the gym, and Ice-t's photo op with Tracy Morgan. It's in the Twitter-Wood report for August 18, 2009.

Ashton Kutcher's Emergency Landing And Steven Tyler's Fall In Today's Twitter-Wood

6 August 2009 4:29 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Don't worry. Ashton Kutcher appears to be safely on the ground and tweeting following an engine emergency in his plane. Thanks to the wonders of the Twitter-Wood feed, his well being has been verified. Today's report actually contains several notes of danger, with the "Spread" star showing up first. Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler suffered injuries after a fall from stage during a concert in South Dakota. I don't have a Twitter account on file for Tyler, but writer Brian Lynch was on hand to tweet.

Significantly less dangerous was director James Gunn's birthday this week, which earned Twitter Pic of the Day honors. The "Slither" director apparently celebrated with some sushi and Lex Luthor himself, Michael Rosenbaum. You can scope out a link to that shot, as well as swearing advice and "Twilight" hopes from Peter Facinelli below. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for August 6, 2009.

Kevin Smith's Birthday Plans And A 'Harry Potter' Actor's First Tweets In Today's Twitter-Wood

31 July 2009 3:08 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Considering the amount of hockey tweeting Kevin Smith has been doing lately, it should come as little surprise that he's setting up a match for his 39th birthday on Sunday. It sounds like he'll need to get some extra rest hours in on Saturday, though, because his new film "A Couple of Dicks" is pulling some a late shoot tonight, according to Kevin Pollak.

Other gems in today's rundown include Tom Felton's warm welcome to one of his Hogwarts professors, as well as a blast from the past for "Full House" fans via John Stamos, who uploaded a photo taken during a BBQ at Bob Saget's place. You can check out all of these and find out which "Twilight" actress recently got a tattoo in the Twitter-Wood report for July 31, 2009.

'Eclipse,' 'Toy Story 3' And Michael Vick In Today's Twitter-Wood

28 July 2009 3:30 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

The Twitter-Wood feed was heavy on media today. I've got some links below to pics from "Eclipse" director David Slade and actor Peter Facinelli, as well as a video clip from director Lloyd Kaufman of his Comic-Con roast where Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee said a few words.

Slade was one of several directors posting updates about current projects over the last 24 hours. Lee Unkrich of "Toy Story 3" tweeted in with some voice acting news and Jon Favreau was riding his keyboard to express how much he enjoys the editing room. Click on down to find all of them, as well as Ashton Kutcher's defense of recently released, re-admitted NFL star Michael Vick. It's in the Twitter-Wood feed for July 28, 2009.

'Eclipse' Storyboarding And A Vague 'Deathly Hallows' Set Report In Today's Twitter-Wood

22 July 2009 6:30 AM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Editor's note: A tech Snafu left Twitter-Wood unpublished last night, so you all get Two helpings today.

Emmy Rossum tweeted a pic from her seat at the Blink-182 concert last night in Los Angeles, which seems to have worn out her eardrums judging by her morning-after posts. The show was a popular topic for her and other celebs, like "The Hills" star Lauren Conrad who also managed to get in.

Elsewhere in the Twitter-Wood feed, folks are still talking about the moon landing anniversary. Kevin Nealon pondered the topic with some thoughtful space-travel insight. As for everyone else, the topic of the week is San Diego Comic-Con, starting tomorrow, which Richard Kelly is preparing for and Lloyd Kaufman will be roasted at without James Gunn in attendance. Check out details on all of these developments, as well as production updates on "Eclipse" from David Slade and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" from Tom Felton. »

2009 Emmys Light on Horror Nominations

16 July 2009 1:03 PM, PDT | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

Despite being nominated for Best Drama and having its star Anna Paquin win Best Actress in a TV Drama at this year's Golden Globes, "True Blood" was shut out of the major categories for the 2009 Emmy Awards, which announced its nominees earlier today. But that's not to say it, and a few other genre-related shows, won't be showing up at the party.

Dollywood, Travel Tips And Peter Facinelli On Parenting In Today's Twitter-Wood

14 July 2009 3:00 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Diablo Cody made good on her promise to go to Dollywood this week, and the Twitter-Wood feed has the tweet to prove it. So if you've ever contemplated a trip to the only country music celebrity-themed park that I'm aware of in the U.S., check out her list of accomplishments.

Actor Ethan Suplee also tweeted in with some travel tips today, explaining how he tried to defend his nail-clippers from confiscation at the airport. ‘Harry Potter’ Comes To Canada And Peter Facinelli’s Quest Continues In Today’s Twitter-Wood

8 July 2009 3:30 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Tom Felton has been jetting around the world with “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” premieres to attend. If you are wondering what type of vehicle will be chauffeuring him around Canada this week, look no further than today’s Twitter-Wood feed, where Felton kept everyone abreast of his exhaustion level and tweeted a pic upon his arrival in North America.

Meanwhile, Kevin Smith took a somewhat less glamorous trip to the dentist. Luckily, the nitrous oxide wasn’t powerful enough to stop his Twitter updates. His “Mallrats” co-star Ethan Suplee one-upped him and tweeted a shot from his family vacation to Paris — “National Lampoon’s European Vacation” fans should appreciate his attire. Check out all of this and Peter Facinelli’s shout-out to Demi Moore as he continues to win a bet regarding his follower numbers. It’s all below in your Twitter-Wood report for July 8, 2009.

‘Iron Man 2,’ Fred Travelena And Bernie Madoff In Today’s Twitter-Wood

Dive in, because I’ve got behind-the-scenes commentary from Jon Favreau, Ashton Kutcher, and Jeremy Piven in today’s handpicked crop of Twitter-Wood tweets. Favreau offers some praise up for Mickey Rourke’s work thus far in “Iron Man 2,” and Kutcher shares his thoughts on the foreign dubbing process for his new film “Spread,” while Piven points out the common links between his new movie “The Goods” and this summer’s box office success story “The Hangover.”

I also rounded up a few thoughts from film folks about yet another entertainment industry death, comedian and impersonator, Fred Travelena, as well as Bernard Madoff’s sentencing today, and Denzel Washington’s latest post about Michael Jackson.
