The following contains MAJOR SPOILERS for the first two episodes of Season 3 of NBC.s "Heroes." Monday.s double dose of "Heroes" proved to be powerful medicine. Like any drug, it had both good results and a few unwanted side-effects. I'm happy to say, though, that "Heroes" is back, and it's a welcome return. So, what did we learn in the two jam-packed episodes that begin "Villains," the third volume of "Heroes?" There was so much information it's difficult to sort it all out, so let me see if I can simplify it a bit. Four years in the future, a leather-clad, dark-haired Claire (Hayden Panettiere) is poised to kill Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) to stop him from changing history. The future is disastrous for our heroes because now people with special abilities are being rounded up, imprisoned, ...

It's been over nine months since we last had a brand new episode of "Heroes" and tonight the show returns with a two hour special beginning with the season premier "The Second Coming" followed by episode 3.02 "The Butterfly Effect" and I have seven clips from that premiere for you to take in and enjoy. I am not sure which clip is from which episode since that information wasn't made available, but I have labeled each clip with a brief description. You also get your first look at Daphne Millbrook played by Brea Grant when she meets Hiro. That clip is on the third page. I broke them out across two pages so as not to entirely bog down your browser. Enjoy, and watch for "Heroes" when it begins tonight, September 22 on NBC at 8:00 PM. When the After Dark Horrorfest popped up in November of 2006, I caught about half of the offered 8 Films to Die For, despite a transparently sensationalized campaign of just how horrendously extreme these titles must've been to get such a specialized release. My experiences ranged from not bad (The Abandoned and The Gravedancers) to pretty dreadful (Penny Dreadful), but between the ratio of enjoyment that year and the yanking of actually-possibly-horrific Frontier(s) the next, I just passed entirely in 2007.
One might assume that, in an effort to meet me halfway, the Horrorfest has skipped out on itself this year, but while this is technically true, it's merely shuffled away into the doldrums of this coming January 2-9 instead. Scott Weinberg had already pointed out that The Broken and The Butterfly Effect 3 were among this year's (next year's?) selected batch of titles, and now The Hollywood Reporter reports that From Within

Benderspink and FilmEngine will produce the third installment of The Butterfly Effect along with After Dark Films, which will distribute it theatrically in the U.S. as part of its After Dark Horrorfest "8 Films to Die For" series. Holly Brix ("The Lost Girls") wrote the screenplay, which centers on a young man discovers he has inherited the powers of "The Butterfly Effect" and attempts to solve the mystery of his high school girlfriend's death using his newfound ability, only to unwittingly unleash a vicious serial killer. Production will start September 1 in Vancouver with casting underway. The first film is awesome, and now that there's a serial killer involved, this could prove to be interesting.
