Great Film, 28 March 2007
10/10
Author: general_shuda from United States

Picked this one up at Blockbuster and it was a hit! I loved this movie so much that I rented it...twice! Metropolis has high-quality CG and looks great on any TV larger than 27". The characters are both believable and lovable, they tug at your heart. You can even feel sympathy for some of the 'bad guys', something which a lot of characters in movies now days make you not want to do. Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis is a rare gem in the world of anime and the only anime movie I would put up to it's level would be Miyazaki's Spirited Away.

Some people complain that the characters seem to 'hollow' because we don't know to much about the characters past but few consider is that perhaps that's the way it's supposed to be in order for your imagination to run wild.

This film is one of the greatest motion pictures I have ever seen and I highly recommend it.
