 -  'Dawn of Man' segment particularly, which is doubled over during 'Jupiter and Beyond' at the end, when part of the 'trip' sequence involves traversing landscape which is just an 'inverted desert', ergo, by bringing slight alterity, the familiar becomes alien, imbued etc. The 360° glance around the horizon in 'Gerry' is like the 'view from nowhere' or the 'POV of the universe' throughout '2001'. But again, with the 'Dawn of Man' documentary style, and the characters of 'Gerry' with their documenting eyes, around the desert landscape - surely this is the theme and question and search for origins; of our origins: the Laureux caves sine qua non.
