  • Continuity: Frank's hockey stick changes direction between shots in hands when he breaks the glasses.

  • Continuity: Near the end, when Mitch is sitting on the back of the U-Haul and talking to Nicole, the helmet behind Mitch in the truck changes position several times between shots.

  • Continuity: When Mitch first walks in on Heidi when she is having the "Gang Bang", the bathroom door behind is alternately open/closed between shots.

  • Continuity: Frank has a large Band-Aid on his neck a few scenes before he is shot in the neck with a dart gun. The Band-Aid never shows up again.

  • Errors in geography: Set in New York State, but in the end credit scene, Frank is shopping at a Jon's supermarket, a California chain.

  • Crew or equipment visible: When Frank is streaking next to his wife's car, you can see the lights and camera attached to the car in the store windows.

  • Continuity: When Mitch is reading Frank's note about the house being boarded up, not only does Frank's voice-over say things that aren't on the note: "If you're holding this letter, you already know..." but his voice-over doesn't say things that are in the letter: "There is absolutely no way to get inside." and "I love you." The complete voice-over says: "Dear Mitch, If you're holding this letter, you already know. The house has been boarded up. The windows, the doors, everything. We're at the Comfort Inn. Room 112. I love you. Frank." The actual writing on the note says: "Dear Mitch. The house has been boarded up. The windows, the doors, everything. There is absolutely no way to get inside. We're at the Comfort Inn. Room 112. Frank."

  • Crew or equipment visible: When Mitch comes home and calls Beanie and Frank into the kitchen about the fraternity Beanie is setting up, a monitor is reflected in the window.

  • Revealing mistakes: Just as Frank falls in the pool after being shot in the neck by a tranquilizer dart, you can see a weight belt around his waist through the robe he is wearing.

  • Continuity: When Frank, Beanie and Mitch kidnap Spanish for initiation, he is riding the scooter with a backpack on. In the next shot he is running without the backpack. Then, as he gets tackled into the water, the backpack reappears.

  • Continuity: When Megan Huang is playing the tape of Dean Pritchard to Mitch and Frank, the fraternity evaluation committee suddenly appears standing behind them towards the end when Dean Pritchard steals the tape.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: In the beginning, when Mitch comes home to the "Gang Bang", he greets the dog at the door. The dog is heard panting, but actually isn't.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Andy Dick's character is talking about the story of Romulus and Remus, he says it's from Greek mythology, but it is actually from Roman mythology.

  • Continuity: When Frank is picked up by his wife and friends after streaking, one of the girls in the back seat is shown wearing a hat which subsequently disappears.

  • Continuity: After Mitch slaps Walsh in the office, he is pointing at Walsh with his right hand, but when it cuts to a wide shot, Mitch is pointing with his left hand.

  • Continuity: At the birthday party right before Frank falls into the pool, he runs into the table. In one shot the birthday cake is on the table as Frank knocks the table down. In the next shot the cake is sitting on a present right as Frank falls into the pool.

  • Continuity: At the birthday party, after Frank gets shot with the dart gun, he falls onto a table and knocks over a chair. He falls on top of the chair. In the next shot his arm is through the chair as he is lying on the ground.

  • Continuity: During the fraternity meeting at the diner where Mitch explains the formal evaluation process, Beanie reaches into his coat pocket twice to retrieve his wallet.

  • Factual errors: Blue's coffin at his funeral should have had an American flag draped over it as he was in the Navy.

  • Miscellaneous: When Mitch Martin is moving in, the hockey stick in the house is curved for a lefty then it shows him sweeping the way a right-handed person would hold a broom.

  • Factual errors: Darcy's father says that, "It's hard to believe that in just seven months you'll be graduating from high school." This means that the current month would have to be November or December, yet all the trees and shrubbery in the movie are in full bloom.

  • Continuity: When Beanie is in the kitchen describing that they are starting a fraternity, the large black pot on the front left burner keeps moving on and off the burner to the middle of the stove during the scene.

  • Continuity: During the scene for school spirit, Frank fails to leap through a ring of fire and his mascot costume catches fire. In the locker room in the next scene his entire body is red from burns. In the next scene, his burns have completely disappeared.

  • Crew or equipment visible: When Frank is driving and leaving his messages for his wife, a reflection of the camera and lighting attached to the car can be seen in the windows of the offices in the background.

  • Factual errors: In the scene where the gymnastics are taking place, when Vince Vaughn is doing the rings, you can see in the background it says "Harrison University - STATE CHAMPS". Because this is a college university, state champions would not be a possible achievement.

  • Continuity: Frank says that he won't do the beer bong because he had a nice Saturday planned out for 'tomorrow', meaning it would be Friday. Then, the high school girl Mitch sleeps with said she has to get to class, which by then it should be Saturday. The flyers also stated that "Mitch-a-palooza" was on a Thursday night. This means the next day would be Friday.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Mitch is talking to Nicole at Frank's wedding, she mentions that she had been living in Denver. Mitch replies "Ah, the Sunshine State." Colorado is actually called the "Centennial State", where Florida is the "Sunshine State."

  • Factual errors: In order for their total score to drop from an 85 average to a 58 average with Blue's 0 scores, there could only have been 2 members (3 if you include Blue). In fact, with 15 members, their score could only drop to a 79.6%

  • Factual errors: At the 34:05 marker, Mitch and Frank are standing in front of Frank's car and it has a NYS license plate but those plates were discontinued in 1986. NYS no longer has the Statue of Liberty on their plates.

  • Miscellaneous: When Darcie is changing after sleeping with Mitch she tells him she's has to go to class. She puts on her pants but no shoes or sandals and walks out barefoot.

  • Continuity: Mitch-a-palooza is held on a Thursday as stated on flyers. When the college kids gode Frank to have a drink he says he can't because he has plans with his wife tomorrow saying, "We have a nice little Saturday planned." What happened to Friday?

  • Factual errors: Mitch flies home from San Diego on a British West Indies Airlines (BWIA) L-1011. BWIA doesn't fly from San Diego to New York.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Darcie is leaving in the morning after Mitch-A-Palooza, she says she has to go to class. If the party was held on a Friday night (as referred to by Frank when stating he "has a nice little Saturday planned") she would not have class on a Saturday morning.

  • Continuity: Near the end, when Frank and Dean Pritchard are tumbling down the classroom stairs, the stuntman for Frank is much smaller than Will Ferrell and also has dark black hair.

  • Factual errors: During Blue's Funeral the the navy emblem on the wreath is designated for Naval Officers. The picture of Blue showed him as an Enlisted meaning he should of had a navy emblem not for officers.
