In late May it was announced that The Robert Evans Co. has a first-look deal at Paramount with respect to the classic Gerry Anderson series UFO (1970). Evans' reputation certainly proceeds him; he brought the classics Chinatown and Marathon Man to the big screen. And while he might seem like an unorthodox choice to resurrect Anderson's first live-action television series into a feature film, he apparently seems to grasp its significance both to fans, and to the UK's ITV Global, the current property holder and Evans' partner in the project. "We know the importance of the UFO series brand to ITV Global, and we will work closely with them to build this into a franchise," Evans said.

No, not the Sci Fi Channel reboot. Sorry, fans of depressing so-called sci-fi shows. We’re actually talking about the original Battlestar Galactica TV show, which according to IGN is currently moving towards an original theatrical movie over at Universal Pictures under the watchful eye of original creator Glen A. Larson, who will write and produce. Or at least, that’s the rumor. IGN has more: IGN Movies has learned that Universal Pictures is planning to turn the TV series Battlestar Galactica into a feature film with series creator Glen A. Larson being lined up to script and produce it. Universal has denied the rumor, but IGN is sure that they’re right, and points to a casting rumor they reported a full year before the studio finally officially announced it.
