  • Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Although based on a true story, the film is not a documentary. Many events have been condensed or eliminated and even some characters have been condensed or eliminated.

  • Anachronisms: When Robert is giving cash to the front desk clerk and the Egyptian translator in 1990, he is giving them the new U.S. notes which were not introduced until 1996.

  • Anachronisms: When Iraqi troops are seen looting Kuwait, some carry Pioneer Electronics cardboard boxes with the new corporate logo as introduced in October 1998, not the previous logo which would have been in use in 1991.

  • Continuity: When Robert and Ingrid are sitting in the bar talking, Robert lights a cigarette. When we next cut back to Robert, his cigarette is unlit.

  • Continuity: In the scene when Ingrid and Robert are sitting at the bar, the current angle shows Ingrid's fingers by her mouth. In the next shot, they are on her neck. In the next shot, her fingers are back by her mouth.

  • Anachronisms: When the team arrives at Iraqi T.V. for their first broadcast and see the "archaic" broadcasting equipment, Mark exclaims, "Jihad! My grandfather used to have stuff like this in his basement." Judy jokingly responds, "Yeah, back in the 80's before you were born?" This is a funny joke to us in the new millennium. At the time of the Gulf War, however, the "80's" were really just a few months before, so this joke is inappropriately placed.
